Adeva brand and noni fruit

Born into a poor family, Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung (from Tien Phuoc) did not have the conditions to pursue her dream of university. She left her hometown to work, study accounting, and then work at a company.

Ms. Dung took advantage of the opportunity to sell goods and cosmetics to earn income. By chance, she noticed that many Korean, Japanese and green consumers in Vietnam are very fond of noni fruit and some medicinal herbs that are abundant in Quang Nam.

“At that time, handmade soap products, coconut oil, handmade lipsticks, etc. had strong consumption. When working with customers, many Korean and Japanese customers expressed interest in products made from noni fruit.

I researched, studied, struggled, and found a way to turn noni fruit and herbs into health care and beauty products that are popular with both foreign and Vietnamese customers. Initially, I searched for raw materials to produce noni powder, tea bags, dried noni... Later, I produced many more cosmetic lines" - Ms. Dung shared.

Ms. Dung has built two noni growing chains in Dai Loc and Tam Ky to stabilize raw materials for production. In 2018, she built a noni fruit factory in Da Nang City.

She signed a contract to supply noni products to two major customers, a Korean company and a ground service company, to import, display and sell the products in duty-free areas at the airport. Thanks to that, her products reached the market very quickly.

Nearly 20 products from noni fruit have been produced and supplied to the market. In early 2019, orders from the airport were continuously sent in large quantities, each order worth hundreds of millions of VND.

However, the journey to start a business from noni trees and Quang herbs was not easy. When she was doing very well, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the market was almost paralyzed.

“New entrepreneurs like me feel lost and unable to find a direction when the market is almost frozen by the pandemic. Not giving up, I promoted domestic distribution channels, online business and everything is fine now,” said Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung.

Through a survey of consumer trends, Ms. Dung realized that there is a very large customer base that is quite fond of toothpaste - mouthwash products made from noni fruit and herbs. The company team spent more than 3 years researching and perfecting the related product set.

“From our strengths, we focus on oral care products to boost the market. Currently, these products are quite stable, with a large sales volume,” said Ms. Dung.

Accordingly, the oral care product line “Adeva Noni - Noni Fresh” by Adeva Naturals not only uses ingredients from noni fruit but also combines dozens of familiar medicinal herbs such as green tea leaves, cinnamon, betel leaves, lemongrass, guava leaves, basil, mint...

According to Ms. Dung, the properties of noni fruit are very good for teeth and mouth, and are effective in caring for and protecting gums. When combined with other herbs, the company focuses on how to keep the medicinal content in the product at the highest level. The product line has entered the Lotte supermarket system, into spas, and is very popular with Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese customers.

Currently, products made from noni fruit and herbs from Quang Nam have been registered as 4-star OCOP products in Da Nang, becoming typical rural industrial products of Quang Nam and Da Nang. “Adeva Naturals” products are also continuously present at fairs and exhibitions in Quang Nam, Da Nang and other provinces and cities.

The company supplies more than 5,000 tubes of toothpaste and mouthwash each month. Adeva Naturals Natural Products Company Limited, founded by Ms. Nguyen Thu Dung, has a factory located in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City. The factory is certified for food safety and hygiene, meets HACCP certification, and meets ISO 22000 cosmetic production standards.
