Inauguration of the rooftop solar power project, towards a green future

Mr. Chung Kook Choi, Chairman and CEO of NS2PC, spoke at the inauguration ceremony.

NS2PC's rooftop solar power project has a maximum design capacity of 518 kWp, installed in the company's staff and employee housing area.

With the energy storage battery system and microgrid control system, the project will make the most of the abundant solar radiation energy available in the area; ensuring the goal of optimal energy management by storing the surplus electricity generated during hours of high solar radiation and reusing it during times of high demand or low solar radiation.

This combination demonstrates NS2PC's commitment to adopting cutting-edge technology to maximize the use of renewable energy.

According to NS2PC, by switching to renewable energy, the business is expected to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, supporting global and local environmental protection plans. The battery energy storage system (BESS) also helps improve energy reliability and reduce dependence on the grid, especially during peak hours; at the same time, it helps the business save long-term costs and support environmental protection.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem acknowledged NS2PC's efforts in investing in the first solar power system integrated with storage batteries in Thanh Hoa province. The system will help businesses ensure optimal energy management.

He also acknowledged the company's responsibility and commitment in orienting production development towards a greener and cleaner trend.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that Thanh Hoa is planned to be a regional and national energy center; however, the rate of renewable energy sources is still very low. The installation and investment of NS2PC's rooftop solar power project is consistent with Vietnam's policies on a sustainable future, with the orientation of developing green energy and reducing carbon emissions; consistent with the commitment of the Vietnamese Government at the COP26 Conference to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 and the commitment at COP29 to reaffirm its commitment to accelerate the application of renewable energy and implement the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).

For the project to operate safely and effectively, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Xuan Liem requested NS2PC to operate the system in compliance with regulations on electricity and fire prevention and fighting; at the same time, continue to research and deploy a larger-scale solar energy project at the Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant to explore further opportunities to expand the renewable energy portfolio and cooperate with like-minded organizations to accelerate the transition to greener production.
