On the afternoon of December 3, after 3 days of exciting competition, the 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024 ended at Cau Giay Stadium, Hanoi with the top final matches and the Closing Ceremony.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, journalist Le Quoc Minh said: The 17th Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Championship - Sao Vang Cup 2024 has ended after 3 days of exciting and dramatic competition. The tournament attracted the participation of 192 athletes from 40 press agencies and Journalists Associations at all levels across the country, creating an exciting and united sporting atmosphere.
Through the intense matches, with 14 competition events, the athletes not only demonstrated their talent and skill, but also showed their noble sportsmanship, team spirit, colleagues and strong determination. The dedication of the athletes, journalists - members of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the enthusiastic cheers of the audience created a truly meaningful and emotional competition space.

The tournament has been actively responded to by all levels of the Journalists Association, central and local press agencies, from implementing the plan to creating conditions for members to participate.
Members from many provinces and cities in the North, Central and South regions all spent time practicing and exchanging to prepare the best. With the participation of nearly 200 athletes from 40 delegations, the tournament has become a meaningful playground, connecting journalists across the country.

The final match of the men's doubles regardless of age was between athletes Nguyen Trang Dung - People's Police Newspaper, Dang Ngoc Hai - Hanoi Moi Newspaper and athletes Tran Xuan Loc and Luong Vu Thai - Hoa Binh Province Journalists Association.
Ms. Lan Huong said: “This year’s tournament was carefully prepared from the field, the table, to the announcement and information activities for the athletes. The organization process has been upgraded to be very professional. I myself was extremely surprised and happy to have won 2 gold medals in the women’s singles over 45 years old, women’s doubles, and a bronze medal in the women’s team. That is a great source of encouragement for me to continue training and look forward to next year’s tournament.”
Winning a medal in the women's singles, journalist Nguyen Thi Bich Chi - Vietnam Television Journalists Association shared: When participating in the Vietnam Journalists Association Table Tennis Tournament, I was very happy and wished to have the opportunity to compete in this tournament every year to meet everyone. Before coming to the tournament, we took the time to arrange family work, to practice to serve the competition better.
"In this year's tournament, I see that the Organizing Committee is more professional, the matches are always broadcast live on television and receive the attention of the press. The communication work is very good and at the same time the professional quality of the tournament has many new factors appearing. I hope that the tournament will be held earlier than the end of the year to allow more athletes to participate, more fully and with higher competition", journalist Nguyen Thi Bich Chi shared.
