Japanese football star known to Vietnamese audiences

Specifically, J-League 1 is broadcast free of charge on HTV with copyright belonging to Huu Tin Company. J-League matches will be broadcast in the afternoon, different from the time slots of European tournaments, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese audiences to fully enjoy.

Notably, audiences and professionals can watch the performance of Sandy Walsh, the naturalized defender of the Indonesian team who faced the Vietnamese team in the second qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup. This player has just transferred to Yokohama F. Marinos, a leading team in the cherry blossom country. This is also the team that owns midfielder Ryo Miyaichi, a player who once played for Arsenal (England).

Nguyen Dinh Khoi - Head of HTV Sports Department, affirmed: "Over the past years, HTV has been shaping its own path in the field of multimedia communications. Japan's J-League football tournament is very suitable for the above orientation, promising to be a unique sports product never seen before in the Vietnamese media market. J-League is both new and close to Vietnamese football culture. With the same Asian football identity, HTV hopes that the J-League copyright will contribute to helping Vietnamese football develop even more strongly, approaching the pinnacle of Asian football".

In the past, Le Cong Vinh, Nguyen Cong Phuong, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Dang Van Lam... were outstanding Vietnamese players who played football in Japan.
