On the afternoon of April 14, the grandstands on both sides of Le Duan Street (District 1), near Thong Nhat Hall, were basically completed to serve the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

The grandstand is about 400 meters long, from the intersection with Pham Ngoc Thach Street to Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, said that the grandstand can accommodate 5,260 delegates, an increase of 1,601 people compared to the 40th anniversary of reunification. Specifically, grandstand A has 1,068 seats, grandstand B has 1,832 seats, and grandstand C has 2,360 seats.

The main grandstand area is about 10 meters high and has basically completed the construction of seats, ramps, barriers and LED screens.

The main grandstand has seats made of metal panels, divided into 9 rows in a terraced style and has no roof. Below the grandstand is a solid, sturdy support system.

In the middle is the covered grandstand area, which is also undergoing final construction. Behind the grandstand is the press area, the platform area, two main power stations, the press data processing center, the medical area, ambulance, fire department, mobile toilet cluster and technical center.

Opposite the main grandstand is the stage area, built on the sidewalk of Le Duan Street and part of 30/4 Park. There are also small grandstands installed here interspersed with LED screens.

To serve the construction in the past few days and in the coming time, Le Duan and Pasteur streets have limited traffic. Traffic police have organized forces to adjust traffic flow appropriately, minimizing the impact on the daily life and travel of people passing through the area.

The stage floor is covered with wood to ensure safety for artistic activities. Interspersed are LED screens installed in both the stands and the stage. According to the Department of Culture and Sports, instead of performing a block and letter formation performance like 10 years ago, this place will use a technical stage and LED screens to convey images of celebrations, parades, and marches.

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City installed 20 LED screens on central streets for residents and tourists to watch the celebration live. Specifically, there are 6 screens on Le Duan Street, 3 on Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, 3 on Le Loi Street; Nguyen Hue, Dong Khoi, Dien Bien Phu and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Streets, each with 2 screens installed.

Inside the Reunification Hall, the grandstand and stage are also under construction.

At the construction site, hundreds of workers are busy completing final items such as installing the sound system, roof, and decorating the stands and stage.

A group of workers installed the floors for the stands and stage. Before that, the sidewalk flower beds and median strips on Le Duan Street were moved and trees were trimmed to make room for construction.

Workers installed scaffolding about 20 meters high to construct sound, lighting, and screen systems for the grand ceremony.

"Since the beginning of April, workers have been working hard to finish the grandstand and stage in time for the big day, to serve people watching the parade," said Lo Van Thim, 37 years old.

In the coming time, the remaining items on Le Duan Street, from Cong Xa Paris roundabout to the front gate of the Zoo and Botanical Garden, will be completed, combined with dismantling the median strip to serve the program's general rehearsal. After the event, the dismantling, site restoration and landscape restoration will take place from May 1-12.
