Kinhtedothi - On the evening of November 29, the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 and the Ceremony to announce the Decision to register "Pho Hanoi" as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage officially opened at Thong Nhat Park, Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.
Attending the program were Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha; along with representatives of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, international representatives and representatives of districts; Culinary Association and accompanying units.
In her opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha emphasized that, following the success of the 3 Festivals, the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 will be held with the theme "Hanoi connecting five continents". This year, the Festival brings together 16 embassies of countries: Algeria, Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, India, Iran, Japan, Mongolia, Laos, Russian Federation, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Korea, France, Italy, Venezuela; 8 neighboring provinces: Ha Giang, Son La, Lang Son, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, Khanh Hoa, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh with a scale of more than 80 booths.
Through the Festival, organizations, individuals and artisans have the opportunity to meet, exchange, promote products, experience the unique culinary culture of countries, territories, provinces and cities. People and tourists can immerse themselves in many folk games, enjoy traditional and modern cultural and artistic performances performed by Vietnamese and international artists; exchange and share knowledge and secrets of famous artisans and chefs, who have "breathed life" into ingredients and food to turn them into unique culinary works of art, imbued with national identity.
Along with the Me Tri green rice craft, Phu Thuong sticky rice craft, and Quang An lotus tea craft, in 2024, "Pho Hanoi" was honored to be listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. This is an honor and pride for the host community and food lovers. Heritage registration is also an important legal basis to contribute to implementing measures to protect and promote the value of the intangible cultural heritage "Pho Hanoi".
In particular, the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 will feature the "Pho So Ha Thanh" program - a unique creation combining traditional cuisine and technology. Thereby, traditional pho is not only preserved but also developed, spread strongly in the digital age and is a creative product of Hanoi in the cultural industry.
The city's leaders affirmed that on the occasion of the "2024 Food Culture Festival", Hanoi, together with international friends and provinces and cities across the country, will continue to spread, circulate and promote cultural values and specialty products of each region, locality and country to the people and tourists.

Within the framework of the festival, there are also activities to introduce, promote, discuss, and demonstrate traditional cuisine and heritage such as: Photo exhibition area introducing works of art promoting typical domestic and international culture, tourism, and cuisine; mobile book exhibition introducing books promoting typical domestic and international culture, art, tourism, and cuisine or friendly cooperation between countries; activities in Hanoi... folk games, traditional and modern art performances; art performances; discussions on improving the quality of human resources, developing culinary culture...
Activities in the Hanoi Food Culture Festival 2024 will take place over 3 days (November 29 - December 1) at Thong Nhat Park, Tran Nhan Tong Street, Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi. Booths will be open from 9am to 10pm to serve visitors.
