On June 25, the 12th Vietnam-China People's Forum co-organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries opened in Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, China.

The forum was attended by 26 experts, scholars, personalities, intellectuals, journalists, and businesses from the two countries, who have a deep understanding of Vietnam-China relations.

The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations has regular exchanges with Chinese partners and has successfully co-organized 11 Vietnam-China People's Forums with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, forming a sincere, frank, and constructive exchange mechanism, contributing to the relationship between the two countries.

Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son said that Vietnam and China are two neighboring countries, mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers, and the people of the two countries have a traditional friendship relationship that was painstakingly built and nurtured by President Ho Chi Minh and Chairman Mao Zedong, the previous leaders.

The two Parties, two Governments and peoples of the two countries have supported and helped each other in the struggle for national liberation and nation building, creating a warm friendship "both as comrades and as brothers".

Chairman Phan Anh Son shared that the 12th Forum took place at a special time, a special place, and a special context, right in the homeland of Chairman Mao Zedong; after the historic mutual visits of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong (October 2022) and General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping (December 2023).

The two Parties and two countries have established a new position for bilateral relations, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.

At the forum, Mr. Duong Van Minh, President of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, reviewed the relationship between the two countries, especially emphasizing the significance of the visit to Vietnam in 2023 by General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, which has deepened and elevated the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future with strategic significance in the direction of "6 more", creating opportunities to expand cooperation.

The Communist Party of China and the Communist Party of Vietnam are currently the two largest communist parties in the world, responsible for leading the two countries to contribute to world peace.

The two sides reaffirmed that the Vietnam-China friendship is a common asset that needs to be inherited and promoted by all walks of life and organizations such as the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

On June 25 and 26, the forum focused on discussing three major topics including politics and international relations, economics - trade, and humanities - academic cooperation.

Previously, on June 24, Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Zhou Qiang warmly received delegates participating in the 12th Vietnam - China People's Forum.

He stressed that this year's forum is very meaningful as it is held in Hunan Province, the hometown of Chairman Mao Zedong. The relationship between the two countries, personally built and nurtured by Chairman Mao Zedong and President Ho Chi Minh, is developing very well and positively, with higher political trust and stronger practical cooperation.

Mr. Chu Cuong emphasized that China is in the process of promoting Chinese-style modernization, and Vietnam is also building national modernization. The two sides increasing exchanges and sharing experiences will create new momentum for the development of each country. Towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, it is necessary to well implement the common perceptions of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, contributing to building the China-Vietnam Community of Shared Future.

The Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference suggested that delegates attending the forum actively discuss bilateral cooperation in politics, socio-economics, and culture, and contribute recommendations to further promote the development of bilateral relations.
