(CPV) - The 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union took place over two days, December 17-18. The Congress is a great festival of Vietnamese youth, a festival uniting all Vietnamese youth, marking a new step in the development of the Union and the youth movement.
On the morning of December 17, at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, the opening session of the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029, took place. Attending the congress were alternate member of the Party Central Committee, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union Bui Quang Huy.

In his opening speech, the Secretary of the Central Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the National Committee on Vietnamese Youth, and Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union said that the Congress, which took place over two days, December 17-18, the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union is a great festival for Vietnamese youth, a festival uniting all Vietnamese youth, marking a new step in the development of the Union and the youth movement.
With the spirit of "Vietnamese youth, patriotism - aspiration - solidarity - pioneering - creativity, confidently entering the new era", the congress has the task of evaluating the results of the Association's work and the youth movement for the 2019-2024 term, building goals, determining tasks and solutions for the Association's work and the youth movement for the 2024-2029 term and consulting to elect the Central Committee and Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, term IX.

The congress has 980 official delegates who are cadres, members, and outstanding youth in various fields at home and abroad. The number of people with master's, university, and college degrees is higher than the previous term. The number of delegates who are outstanding individuals has also increased with 148 delegates (accounting for 15.1%). The political theory level of the delegates has also increased compared to the previous term, of which 289 delegates have bachelor's and advanced degrees (accounting for 29.5%); 248 delegates have intermediate degrees (accounting for 25.3%).
The slogan of the congress is "Vietnamese youth are patriotic - aspirational - united - pioneering - creative - confident in entering the new era.

Before that, the delegates visited the Vietnam Military History Museum; offered incense at the Bac Son Monument for Heroes and Martyrs; attended a ceremony to report achievements and visited President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.../.
