Many years ago, Nguyen Thi Nhu Thuy's family experienced a major change. Her husband died in an accident, leaving her and her two young children. With a meager salary as a physical education teacher at Tran Quoc Toan Primary School (Tra Duong Commune, Bac Tra My) at that time, her family's economic situation fell into difficulty.
“At that time, the COVID-19 pandemic was happening, teaching gifted subjects was temporarily suspended, I was stressed for months because of my husband's sudden passing. But looking at my children, I told myself to be strong and move forward,” Ms. Thuy said.
Since then, Ms. Thuy has thrown herself into her work, leaving no free time for herself. She started purchasing local agricultural products and connecting with manufacturing companies to supply raw materials for the factory.
Having a cosmetics factory that constantly needed a large supply of aloe vera, Ms. Thuy had to go to the southern provinces and the Central Highlands to buy the goods. From this business relationship, she began to pay more attention to cosmetics.

A physical education teacher with tanned skin, plus going from place to place to buy agricultural products, caused her skin to be seriously damaged, skin diseases such as melasma and dark spots appeared earlier than her age. She used dozens of cosmetics from the partner company to test and found that the most effective and necessary was only one type: sunscreen.
“Sun, UV rays or blue light have a negative impact on the skin. When I use sunscreen, I see that the damage improves very quickly.
This product is made from aloe vera by my partner company. After using it for a while, I started to receive compliments from everyone. It was also because of this change that I confidently learned the profession of MC and became an MC for many local events," said Ms. Thuy.
Create your own product
After a while, Thuy's friends and acquaintances kept asking her to buy the sunscreen product she was using. Based on market demand, she wanted to upgrade the sunscreen product made from aloe vera to add some minimal uses that every woman needs at a low cost.
Accordingly, she discussed with the cosmetic manufacturing company that she supplied aloe vera raw materials to, hoping to create a product line with its own brand and change the ingredients and upgrade the uses.
In early 2023, she established Nhu Thuy Aloe Joint Stock Company, producing Nhu Thuy 3-in-1 aloe sunscreen products with the main ingredient being natural aloe vera. The product has the effect of moisturizing the skin, helping the skin to be fresh and smooth; sun protection for the skin, helping to protect the skin from harmful environmental factors; makeup for whiter, brighter skin. The product has a net weight of 30gr, luxurious packaging and a price of 290 thousand VND.
Nhu Thuy aloe sunscreen is being sold nationwide through e-commerce channels and is very popular with customers.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Nha Phuong (Tam Ky City) is a regular customer of Thuy, said: “Ms. Thuy's products are like a special medicine for MCs in particular or women who are often exposed to sunlight, including office workers who work on computer screens a lot. It is both effective sun protection and a layer of makeup, moisturizing the skin. The product is made from natural aloe vera, so women feel very secure" - Ms. Phuong said.
Encouraged by the leaders of Bac Tra My District Youth Union, Ms. Thuy participated in the Quang Nam Startup Talent Search Contest 2024, with the product of Nhu Thuy aloe vera sunscreen. As a result, she won second prize for the creativity and practicality of the product.
“The products are being manufactured in Hanoi, including the aloe vera raw materials, which we collect from the Central Highlands and transport directly to the factory.
In the near future, I plan to invest in a factory and cooperate with local aloe vera growers. This will be a major turning point, creating conditions for research on other cosmetic products and creating jobs for people," said Ms. Thuy.
