According to PhoneArena , Twitter user Andreu said: "Why is my Apple ID asking me to enter my password randomly. I don't think that's normal." Another Twitter user also complained that the same thing was happening to them. While a Reddit user named TomatoBill said he received the same notification within 10 minutes on two devices using the same Apple ID.
Thanh Nien reporters also recorded encountering this request once on an iOS device while using the Facebook Messenger application on April 16.
Problem occurs strangely with many iPhone users
Comments online show that users will receive a random pop-up message on their phone asking them to log in and then change their password. This has many people worried. Reddit user NebulousLotus wrote: "I was extremely scared when this happened to me. I updated my phone to see if that was the issue and it seems to still be happening." Meanwhile, another said that after entering the password, the message showed "unable to connect to server", which is quite strange.
Some users reported that after getting the random password prompt they restarted their phone and since then the prompt never returned.
In general, if you keep getting asked to sign in with your Apple ID password, you can turn off your iPhone and restart it, or simply ignore the sign-in request. Another suggestion is to try changing your Apple ID password if you are really worried.
