Hung Ha: Making tourism a spearhead economic sector

Hung Ha has a favorable location, is the growth pole in the Northwest of the province, with many potential advantages to develop spiritual, resort and ecological tourism. Taking advantage of favorable conditions and opportunities, Hung Ha is implementing synchronous solutions to make tourism a spearhead economic sector of the district to affirm the position and strong growth of the homeland of talented people.

One route - many destinations

In the early spring days, we returned to the land of talented people, immersed in the ancient, majestic and splendid architecture of Tran Temple (Tien Duc Commune). This is the resting place of Thai To Tran Thua and the first three kings of the Tran Dynasty. On January 27, 2014, the Tran Temple Festival in Thai Binh was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage with many unique rituals and customs imbued with the culture of the Tran Dynasty such as: water procession ceremony, exchange ceremony, fish feast competition, folk games... Meritorious artisan Vu Xuan Thang, member of the Tran Temple Relic Management Board, said: Every traditional festival, the relic site welcomes tens of thousands of visitors to offer incense, worship and learn about the history of the nation. We hope that through the festival, visitors from near and far will better understand the historical milestones of the nation and each local person will be more proud of their homeland as the birthplace of a powerful dynasty.

As one of the spring tourists at Tran Temple, Ms. Ha Thi Tuyet, Hanoi city said: Tran Temple is one of the famous spring destinations in Thai Binh in particular, the North in general. This is not only a place for us to express our gratitude to the Tran Dynasty kings in the cause of building and protecting the country, but also an opportunity for each citizen to understand more and be more proud of the heroic history of the nation. Every time I come here, I feel a sacred emotion rising up so that when I leave, I feel peaceful in my heart with the belief in a lucky and successful new year.

From Tran Temple, visitors can visit and enjoy the scenery at Tien La Temple (Doan Hung Commune), which worships Bat Nan General Vu Thi Thuc. She was a famous female general under the Hai Ba Trung Dynasty, who had the merit of repelling the Northern invaders. Tien La Temple was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1986. Mr. Dang Vu Tran Nha, the head of Tien La Temple, said: Tien La Temple is currently being planned with 4 areas including: spiritual area, guest house area, rest and dining area, and festival entertainment area. The campus is spacious but still retains its ancient beauty, so it attracts thousands of visitors to visit and worship at the temple, creating opportunities for developing spiritual tourism here.

On the spring route, visitors can also visit Lo Giang Palace, Hong Minh commune; Vy Sy School historical revolutionary relic site; Dieu Dung Princess Temple historical cultural relic site, Chi Hoa commune; Le Quy Don scholar memorial site, Doc Lap commune; President Ho Chi Minh memorial house, Hong An commune; national historical relic cluster of family, temple, mausoleum worshiping Grand Tutor Tran Thu Do and Linh Tu Quoc Mau Tran Thi Dung, Lien Hiep commune...

Not only exploiting the spiritual advantages, Hung Ha is also a locality with abundant hot mineral water resources, which is an opportunity to develop resort tourism. Seizing that opportunity, Hung Ha has made many decisions to attract investors to build a large-scale entertainment and hot mineral bath complex that has just started construction in Duyen Hai commune. The project consists of 2 phases, of which phase 1 is the Wyndham Duyen Hai commercial, accommodation and hot mineral bath complex with a scale of 4.8 hectares, with an investment of nearly 240 billion VND. When the project comes into operation, it is expected to attract tens of thousands of tourists to come for entertainment, hot mineral baths, health care and therapy.

In the near future, after journeys to immerse themselves in the lives of local people to explore the depth of culture and spiritual history in the area, visitors will experience professional services of international standards and hundreds of amenities at the Duyen Hai hot spring resort, enjoying a trip filled with emotions. This is the attraction for Hung Ha tourism to become a key economic sector of the province.

Develop potential and development vision

In recent years, Hung Ha district has always focused on developing spiritual tourism. From 2010 to now, the district has renovated and embellished 77 relics; invested in the construction of 26 arterial roads with a total investment of 736.97 billion VND; organized and planned the construction of tourist attractions associated with cultural heritages, creating connections between tourist attractions in the district. Currently, the whole district has 598 historical and cultural relics, including 1 special national relic, 19 national relics, 95 provincial relics, 135 intangible cultural heritages, of which 114 traditional festivals preserve dozens of folk games, imbued with national cultural identity, attracting the number of visitors each year always 10-15% higher than the previous year. Mr. Dinh Ba Khai, Vice Chairman of Hung Ha District People's Committee, said: The district is interested in investing in completing infrastructure for tourism, first of all, speeding up the construction progress of infrastructure works on transportation, culture, services... which are being implemented; focusing on developing tourism activities in the community associated with production development, restoring and promoting the cultural values of traditional crafts and craft villages... to form sightseeing and experiential tourism spots for tourists and diversifying types of tourism; building a number of typical agricultural and handicraft products with brands to display and introduce to tourists when they come to visit and relax, creating conditions to soon turn Hung Ha into a spiritual - resort - ecological tourism center of the province.

In particular, Hung Ha is also a key area of the Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh economic growth triangle, which is an advantage in attracting investors to the district. In the coming time, the province will implement the project of the route from Thai Binh city to Hung Ha district, connecting with Hung Yen province (within Thai Binh province), expected to have the starting point at the intersection between the road to TBS Song Tra industrial park and National Highway 10 (S1 bypass), in Thai Binh city and the end point at the beginning of the Luoc River overpass, in Cong Hoa commune, Hung Ha district. The total length of the route is about 24.8km, designed according to the scale of a class II plain road, the design speed of 100km/h is a favorable condition to attract tourists to the district for sightseeing and experience. In that context, Hung Ha is making efforts to synchronously deploy many solutions to make tourism one of the five pillars of socio-economic development of the district.

Mr. Tran Huu Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Hung Ha District Party Committee, said: In order for Hung Ha tourism to truly become a spearhead economic sector of the district, according to the draft Resolution on promoting tourism development in the period of 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030, we focus on maximizing the potential and advantages of rich and available tourism resources to create a breakthrough in comprehensive tourism development of the district in terms of scope, scale and service quality, ensuring sustainability and efficiency; linking the interests of the community in tourist areas and spots. Mobilizing all resources to invest in tourism infrastructure and technical facilities; striving by 2030, Hung Ha tourism will become an important economic sector in the overall economic structure of the district; focusing on building high-quality, diverse, branded and competitive tourism products with their own unique identity, friendly to the environment; Raise the sense of responsibility of people and businesses in building, protecting and preserving the unique, friendly and hospitable image of Hung Ha tourism, contributing to the formation of eco-tourism and spiritual cultural tourism destinations associated with cultural and artistic activities, festivals and entertainment, shopping and culinary services that attract tourists.
