According to information from producer Tu Van Pictures, Hua Vi Van is in the process of preparing for filming. He is an actor with an outstanding acting career, highly appreciated by experts and loved by audiences. Hua Vi Van is also a Vietnamese artist participating in the jury of feature films at Hanoi International Film Festival recently. Producer Tu Van Pictures was very impressed with Hua Vi Van because of his diverse acting ability through many roles he has played and expected him to bring a new image through a haunting and captivating role in the horror film project to be released in 2025.

The film script was written for more than 2 years, when choosing the actors, the casting team gave many options but no one was suitable, finally the casting team suggested Hua Vi Van, the director "laughed meaningfully". Later, a member of the crew shared that the director once said he really liked Hua Vi Van because of his acting talent and character, but to be objective, he kept quiet while the casting team searched for a long time. The director shared that Hua Vi Van has an inner depth that few people fully exploit and it is the contrast between the image of a gentleman and the dark world of horror films that will create a breakthrough for the character. This is not only a bold step for the film and the actors but also brings a new experience to the audience.

Confirming his participation in “Hurting Hill”, Hua Vi Van said that he really loves his character in the new film script because with “Hurting Hill”, he appears with a new image that has never been seen before compared to the films he has participated in.

Hua Vi Van revealed that he had received many invitations to participate in horror films before, but what made him cooperate with producer Tu Van Pictures was the very different content of the script for "Hortar Hill". Hua Vi Van plays a polite, knowledgeable, and extremely passionate man, the difficulty is to show the opposite psychological aspects of the character. The producer revealed that the person who plays alongside Hua Vi Van is a beauty who came out of a beauty pageant and "still has a pristine bare face".

The crew expected the cast to not only have cinematic beauty but also have acting styles that fit the characters in the film. Besides Hua Vi Van, an actor who closely fits the character's image and has impressive acting ability, the main cast was also carefully selected to suit the director's requirements.

“The Hill of Torture” is a horror film project based on the folk legend of the guardian god, with unsolved secrets, traditions and customs that have existed for hundreds of years. From strange phenomena, the audience gradually begins to discover the source of evil forces and the real people behind the “kind cloaks” of the characters.

According to the producer, exploiting Asian cultures, especially legends and folk beliefs, to create unique horror stories with the mark of each country is a factor that helps many horror films in Asia develop and bring this genre to the international market.

The film is expected to start filming in January 2025, in Thanh Hoa, Ninh Binh, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The film is expected to be released to audiences in 2025 and participate in prestigious major film festivals around the world.
