Three-way cooperation to support businesses

Speaking at the signing ceremony, journalist Tang Huu Phong, Editor-in-Chief of Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper, said that the newspaper's consistent policy over the years has always been to support businesses that produce according to green criteria and develop sustainably. More than 10 years ago, the newspaper had a program to honor and support green businesses. Now, when it was restarted, the program to select and honor Green Businesses has been supported by the city and upgraded to a city-level award. This is very encouraging.

According to journalist Tang Huu Phong, “green” is an inevitable trend that cannot be resisted; this is not a fad, but a necessity. Countries erect technical barriers to limit products that do not comply with the requirements of green production and sustainable development. According to the regulations for selecting the Green Enterprise title, in addition to honoring enterprises, the organizing committee also has the very important task of supporting the promotion of Green Enterprises.

“Normally, awards only select and honor. But it doesn’t stop there. With Green Enterprises, we have to gather and cherish green enterprises to ensure the world’s technical requirements and support the development of domestic production,” said journalist Tang Huu Phong, adding that in 2023, 90 enterprises will be selected and honored.

In the coming time, the number of green businesses will increase, and the chain of connected green businesses will also be wider. After this signing ceremony with SAIGON CO.OP, SGGP Newspaper and HUBA will continue to sign with other distribution units to support green businesses in distributing products.

From the business perspective, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, Chairman of HUBA, said that currently, Ho Chi Minh City businesses are a business community with a very high determination in green transformation and digital transformation to adapt to domestic and foreign markets. However, the majority are still small and medium-sized enterprises, so in this transformation process, they are often "powerless".

According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa, the Green Business Organizing Committee hopes that the joint efforts and support for businesses will be implemented synchronously and in a coordinated manner, not individually. He thanked the strong and determined participation of SGGP Newspaper and SAIGON CO.OP to provide comprehensive support for the green business community.

As an organization that gathers businesses, HUBA has the function of connecting and listening to the wishes of businesses to unite them together. In addition, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ho Chi Minh City State Financial Investment Company (HFIC), Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoa said that he has mobilized additional financial resources from HFIC to support the green business community.

Accordingly, HFIC has proposed that Ho Chi Minh City support and include all green transformation and sustainable development projects of enterprises in the stimulus program. “Any work done in any aspect will contribute to this to create a common synergy,” said HUBA Chairman Nguyen Ngoc Hoa.

Representing the first unit to sign with the Green Business Award Organizing Committee, Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, General Director of SAIGON CO.OP, emphasized the unit's pioneering role in green transformation and supporting businesses in this transformation journey.

According to Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc, SAIGON CO.OP has coordinated with SGGP Newspaper to implement the Green Consumption campaign for the past 15 years, which has been widely supported by consumers. Not only taking on the pioneering mission, SAIGON CO.OP also strives to play a fundamental role in connecting and building a green business ecosystem.

The General Director of SAIGON CO.OP hopes that the Green Business Award will spread more widely in the community. With SAIGON CO.OP, since being recognized as a Green Business in 2023, the unit has turned green business criteria into KPIs and goals for units to implement.

“Hopefully in the future, the Green Business Award will not only stop at Ho Chi Minh City but our partners will also be able to submit applications and be selected. We will strive to contribute so that the green business community has a truly solid support from SAIGON CO.OP - the leading retailer in Vietnam, together reaching out to a beautiful green journey”, said Mr. Nguyen Anh Duc.

Expanding market share for green businesses

According to the memorandum of understanding on comprehensive cooperation to support market share and brand for enterprises achieving the title of "Green Enterprise", the three parties SGGP - HUBA - SAIGON CO.OP agreed to cooperate towards the common goal of developing the brand of enterprises achieving the title of Green Enterprise, enhancing community recognition, and gradually contributing to expanding market share for green enterprises.

The parties also agreed to establish a "Green Business" information and communication channel on SGGP Newspaper, and at the same time support businesses in building communication strategies to increase public awareness of the products and brands of the parties and businesses, members in the systems of the parties.

Among the specific tasks of each party, SGGP Newspaper has the task of creating and building communication themes to effectively inform the brand image and products of Green Enterprises to the community.

Diversify information implementation solutions: Organize diverse forms of information transmission such as on SGGP daily newspaper, SGGP Online, SGGP Talk Show, Video clip reportage... at the same time, act as a focal point for information, connect and promote the strength of multi-channel communication with other media units... to increase the ability to cover information about Green Enterprises, increase the effect of spreading information for enterprises to the community...

HUBA will establish an information receiving channel to grasp the needs of brand development and market share expansion of Green Enterprises. At the same time, coordinate with SGGP Newspaper and SAIGON CO.OP to organize promotional activities and trade for Green Enterprises; organize seminars and talks to create opportunities for Green Enterprises to develop their brands, expand domestic market share and export to foreign markets.

Meanwhile, SAIGON CO.OP is in charge of developing preferential policies and appropriate promotional programs, applied at points of sale nationwide to support businesses achieving the title of Green Enterprise. There is a preferential financial policy to rent shelf space and product display locations for Green Enterprises. At the same time, support supply businesses to complete the production process, towards achieving Green Enterprise certification.

In coordination with SGGP Newspaper and HUBA, we regularly organize trade promotion activities, connecting Green Enterprises with domestic and foreign enterprises, enterprises with the community and consumers, in order to create favorable opportunities for enterprises to expand market share, create a basis for expanding production activities, and gradually form Green Enterprises with large production scale and industry leadership.

The strategic cooperation period between the three parties will be implemented in the period from 2024-2030. After each year of implementation, the three parties will organize an assessment of the effectiveness and quality of the program, as a basis for implementing the next phase of strategic cooperation.
