Hong Kong opens "World of Forzen", the first theme park inspired by the animated film "Frozen" at Disneyland.

According to Josh D'Amaro, President of Disney Experiences, "World of Frozen" is the largest expansion project of Disneyland Hong Kong to date and is also the first park in the world to be themed after the movie "Frozen", opening to the public on November 20. The park recreates the image of Elsa and Anna's hometown, Arendelle, the fictional village in the movie with typical landmarks such as the Ice Palace and Arendelle Castle. The shops in the new park area are inspired by the Norwegian "dragestil" design style (roughly translated: designs related to dragons).

Bryan Darmanic, a tourist from California, along with his wife and daughter, was one of the first visitors to experience the new theme park, commenting that the park was "impressively designed and very beautiful". Meanwhile, Winnie Ip, a tourist from Macau, felt that the attractions at "World of Frozen" were wonderful.

Ride the "Frozen Ever After" character boat, enjoy the movie's theme songs, and the "Wandering Oaken's Sleighs" roller coaster are two new rides exclusive to this area.

Hong Kong Disneyland's cast members will transform into characters from the film, such as Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff, to interact with visitors. Instead of holding scheduled performances like before, "World of Forzen" has its own band and will roam the park to play music. In addition, the restaurant menus in the new park area are also inspired by Norwegian cuisine.

Nguyen Huy Hoang, CEO of Klook Vietnam, said the platform saw a sharp increase in demand for Disneyland Hong Kong tickets during the week of the new area's launch, with the number of orders increasing by 40% compared to the same period last year. The most popular product among users was the early park entry pass, which allows visitors to enter the park one hour before the official opening time. Currently, Disneyland Hong Kong tickets include admission to the new theme park area.

In an effort to attract tourists back to Hong Kong after the pandemic and stimulate the city’s economy, the Hong Kong government is working to expand and improve its theme park facilities. In September, Walt Disney said it would nearly double its investment in its theme park business to about $60 billion over the next 10 years.

Elsewhere, Disney also plans to open new theme parks at Shanghai Disneyland in China in December 2023, Tokyo DisneySea in Japan in spring 2024 and Disneyland Paris in France in 2024 or 2025.
