More than 600 Yogis gather on International Yoga Day

BTO-At 5:00 a.m. on June 25, more than 600 Yogis gathered at Doi Duong Park to organize International Yoga Day in Binh Thuan province in 2023, aiming to contribute to cooperation in developing sustainable tourism based on cultural similarities between the two countries Vietnam and India.

Awarding souvenir flags to Yoga Clubs

This event aims to celebrate the 51st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 16th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-India strategic partnership; respond to the National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence". In addition, it also honors the benefits of Yoga for human health, encourages Yoga practice worldwide to prevent diseases and help unite the community. Through many research projects, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly decided to choose June 21 every year as the International Yoga Day and was held for the first time in 2015.

The event was attended by Mr. Pankaj Kumar - Assistant Officer of the Indian Consulate, Mr. Bui The Nhan - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Huynh Thi My Hanh - Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs - Provincial People's Council, Mr. Nguyen Nam Long - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City.

At the ceremony , Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said : International Yoga Day is to honor the benefits of Yoga for human health, encourage Yoga practice worldwide to prevent diseases and help unite the community. Yoga brings benefits to everyone, from children to teenagers, parents and the elderly. Practicing Yoga helps improve health and brings peace of mind. Yoga helps improve work performance, positively affects social relationships and helps us maintain harmony with the surrounding environment.

Mr. Pankaj Kumar - Assistant Officer of the Indian Consulate said that International Yoga Day was proposed by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014 and decided to choose June 21 as International Yoga Day, which was agreed to be sponsored by India and 177 countries including Vietnam. The International Yoga Day event was first celebrated on June 21, 2015 and has become an annual event worldwide.

This is the second time that International Yoga Day is held in Binh Thuan. We recorded some images of the International Yoga Day event held at Doi Duong Park, Phan Thiet City , as a call for people to be aware of protecting their health, connecting the community to protect their health and the surrounding environment.
