(NLDO) - Metro Line 1 (HCMC) increased trips from 12 noon on January 30 (the second day of Tet). On the first day, the line carried 55,657 passengers, exceeding the target by 168%.
In order to meet the increased travel demand of passengers during the 2025 Lunar New Year, HURC Company, with the agreement of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport, adjusted the operating plan and increased the number of trains on Metro Line 1 on the afternoon of the 2nd day of Tet.
Specifically, from 12:00 on January 30, the train will operate from 12:00 to 22:00, with a frequency of 9 minutes/trip between 12:00 and 15:00 and 18:00 to 22:00, and a frequency of 12 minutes/trip between 15:00 and 18:00. The total number of additional trips is 28, including 14 up and 14 down.
Previously, on the first day of Tet (January 29), Metro Line No. 1 transported 55,657 passengers, exceeding the target by 168%. The metro system started operating at 5 a.m. and ended at the end of the day with a total of 182 trains.
In addition, in each period before, during and after Tet, the number of trains and the time between trips are flexibly adjusted to best meet the travel needs of people and tourists.
Increasing the operation of Metro Line 1 during Tet not only helps reduce traffic pressure in the city but also brings a modern and convenient travel experience to passengers.
Metro is expected to become an important public transport, helping to quickly connect regions, while creating conditions for people to enjoy the spring atmosphere comfortably and safely.
