Dr. Nguyen Quoc Chinh, Director of the Center for Testing and Training Quality Assessment, said that 40,455 candidates completed registration procedures for the second round of competency assessment exams.
Ho Chi Minh City is the locality with the largest number of exam registrations and surpasses other localities with nearly 21,700 candidates, followed by Dong Nai (2,435), Da Nang (2,251), An Giang (2,020).
In 2024, 109 training institutions will use the results of the HCM City National University's competency assessment exam for admission, including 9 member units and affiliated units of the National University, 91 universities outside the National University and 9 colleges.
In total, this year, there were about 134,000 candidates taking the competency assessment exam nationwide.
The Competency Assessment Test was first organized by Ho Chi Minh City National University in 2018, with the goal of selecting students with good abilities, in line with the comprehensive education philosophy. The Competency Assessment Test aims to assess candidates' important abilities for university study such as: language use, logical thinking, data processing, problem solving, etc.
2024 is the last year that the competency assessment exam will be held according to the current general education program. In 2025, the exam will be adjusted according to the 2018 general education program.
