On July 26, at the Bac Ninh City Culture and Sports Center, the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation (VBD) coordinated with the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee of Agencies and Enterprises to organize the Blood Donation Festival "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood" and honor the province's outstanding blood donors in 2023.

The 2023 “Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood” blood donation festival attracted more than 1,500 people to register for voluntary blood donation from departments, branches, organizations and enterprises in the province. The program was held for 1 day, expected to collect 1,200 units of blood.

Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan congratulated the achievements and positive results in the province's voluntary blood donation campaign in recent times. Specifically, Bac Ninh has mobilized and received nearly 139,000 units of blood, in 2022 alone, nearly 14,500 units of blood, of which 100% were voluntary blood donations, the rate of blood donation increased from nearly 0.18% in 2008 to 0.9% in 2022. 2023 is the 9th year that the Red Journey has been organized in Bac Ninh - a clear demonstration of the special attention of the provincial leaders, as well as the drastic and responsible direction of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation. It is requested that departments, branches, sectors, organizations, agencies in the province, and sponsors continue to pay close attention and create conditions for the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation at all levels to promote effective operations; The provincial media agencies continue to coordinate, direct, and propagate to mobilize cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers to actively participate in voluntary blood donation, so that the voluntary blood donation movement in Bac Ninh province will develop more and more sustainably, contributing to caring for, protecting, and improving the health of local people.

On this occasion, 10 outstanding individuals in the voluntary blood donation movement were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 50 outstanding blood donors were awarded symbols and gifts by the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee for their achievements in voluntary blood donation.
Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, presented the souvenir flag and logo of the program "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood" in 2023 to Bac Ninh province.
The program “Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood” was launched in 2013, has spread to 58 provinces and cities nationwide, receiving 700,000 blood units, contributing to raising awareness for millions of people about blood donation. In 2023, “Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood” was launched from the beginning of June to the end of July, passing through 48 provinces and cities, expected to reach more than 120,000 blood units.
