The 19th Theoretical Seminar between the Communist Parties of Vietnam and China

The 19th Theoretical Conference took place in the context of Vietnam-China relations continuing to maintain a positive development trend after visits by senior leaders of the two parties and two countries.

Implementing the agreement between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of China, on December 6, in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, China, the 19th Theoretical Seminar between the two Parties took place with the theme "Perfecting Development Institutions: Vietnam's Experience, China's Experience."

The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam is led by Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics.

The delegation of the Communist Party of China was led by Mr. Li Shulei, member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Secretariat, and Head of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Also attending were representatives of leaders of departments, ministries, localities, scientists, experts, scholars of Vietnam and China, and leaders of the Vietnamese Embassy in China.

The 19th Theoretical Conference took place in the context of Vietnam-China relations continuing to maintain a positive development trend after visits by senior leaders of the two parties and two countries, most recently the very successful visit of General Secretary To Lam to China, and the two countries are looking forward to celebrating the 75th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.

In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang highly appreciated this Workshop for identifying practical topics, contributing to enhancing understanding and consolidating political trust at a new height between the two Parties and two countries.

Emphasizing that continuing to build and synchronously perfect institutions for rapid and sustainable development is a key issue and a strong breakthrough to bring Vietnam firmly into a new era, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang shared major orientations to perfect institutions in the fields of politics, economy, society, culture, ecological environment and national defense-security-foreign affairs; affirming the determination of the Party and State of Vietnam in implementing revolutionary transformations such as organizing the apparatus of the political system, national digital transformation and fighting waste.

Mr. Li Shulei emphasized that China is currently striving to realize the goal of "the second 100 years", promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation through Chinese-style modernization, in which the task of promoting the construction and improvement of mechanisms and institutions is of particular importance.

Mr. Ly Thu Loi introduced the general goals, implementation methods and achievements of China in the process of building, perfecting and reforming mechanisms and institutions; especially the new contents approved at the 20th National Congress and the 3rd Central Conference of the 20th tenure.

The two Heads of Delegation affirmed the significance of enhancing theoretical exchanges between the two Parties, saying that this is an opportunity for both sides to share theoretical achievements and practical experience in leading and organizing the implementation of major policies and decisions of the Party on building and perfecting effective mechanisms and institutions to serve the development cause of each Party and each country.

During the discussion sessions, delegates from both sides closely followed the conference theme, linked the practices and experiences of each side, and discussed in depth the successful practices of each Party in the process of perfecting the development institution.

On the same day, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang held talks with Head of the Central Propaganda Department Ly Thu Loi; and received Mr. Doan Hoang, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee.

At the high-level talks, the leaders of the two sides highlighted the long-standing tradition of friendship between the two Parties and two countries; affirmed the importance and top priority given to the Vietnam-China relationship, considering it a strategic choice.

Appreciating the important progress in Vietnam-China relations in recent times, the two sides agreed to effectively implement high-level agreements, promote the long-standing tradition of friendship and unique advantages of bilateral relations; reach common perceptions on measures to promote the continuous development of relations between the two Parties and countries, towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations in 2025.

During the meeting with Jiangxi Provincial Party Secretary, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang emphasized that Vietnam attaches importance to multifaceted cooperation with China, including local cooperation.

Mr. Doan Hoang expressed his joy and honor when the two Parties chose to organize the Theoretical Workshop in Jiangxi; he considered this an opportunity to open up future cooperation in all aspects with Vietnam.

The two sides discussed measures to promote mutually beneficial substantive cooperation between Jiangxi and potential localities of Vietnam./.
