The Olympic Council of Asia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Asian Boxing at Shangri-La Harbin.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Olympic Council of Asia Director General Husain Al Musallam and Filipino CEO Victorico “Ricky” Vargas on behalf of Thai Boxing Asia President Pichai Chunhavajira.

Director General Husain Al Musallam said: “The Olympic Council of Asia has always supported boxing and we are committed to the development of boxing. The International Olympic Committee also highly appreciates what Asian boxing has achieved.”
CEO Husain Al Musallam also believes that things are moving in the right direction under the leadership of Chairman Pichai Chunhavajira. There are currently 23 countries participating and we hope to add more.
Director General Husain Al Musallam also said that the Olympic Council of Asia has been in contact with the member National Olympic Committees and will continue to be in touch to inform them about the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with Asian boxing.
Asian Boxing's Filipino CEO Victorico “Ricky” Vargas thanked the Olympic Council of Asia for its support and partnership.
"Asian boxing has always supported the Olympic Council of Asia and we are very grateful to the Olympic Council of Asia for supporting boxing. Asian boxing's dream is to bring boxing to the Los Angeles 2022 Summer Olympic Games," said Victorico “Ricky” Vargas.
Director General Husain Al Musallam said the Olympic Council of Asia highly appreciated the above-mentioned goals of Asian boxing and said that it would report to the International Olympic Committee on this latest development, while expressing its commitment to continue supporting Asian boxing.
