Innovation and building a closer image with many attractive and diverse activities is the goal that Gia Lai Provincial Museum is aiming for and is starting to leave an impression on the hearts of people and tourists.

At the end of 2024, the Provincial Museum will renovate the Department of Geography, Nature and History of Gia Lai before 1945.

Previously, this area lacked light and the exhibition space was not attractive. After completing the renovation, the space is brighter and more beautiful, the exhibition theme is more coherent with the central part being a miniature "forest" visually introducing specimens of some Central Highlands wild animals.

Surrounding are artifacts from the Ga Village Site (Chu Prong District); Bien Ho Site (Pleiku City); 2 national treasures including the Central Highlands Champa Buddha Relief and the An Khe Paleolithic Early Stone Age Tool Collection.

The new feature is that some artifacts are displayed on a rotating table, helping visitors to observe the overall artifacts from many sides. Along with that, the Museum added many valuable artifacts discovered in the sacred pit during the excavation of An Phu relic (An Phu commune, Pleiku city) such as: gold leaves, hanging beads, studded beads...

Tour guide Pham Thi Phuong Thao introduces a newly renovated corner, which is a cluster of statues simulating prehistoric life scenes. According to Thao, many visitors, especially young people, are very interested in this newly renovated space.

Not only that, the Museum campus has also been invested to create a harmonious, friendly and close landscape. Ms. Nguyen Thi An - Deputy Head of the Professional Department (Provincial Museum) said: The unit has just invested in a statue garden with the theme "Statues and flowers" on an area of over 700 m2, creating a continuous space when harmoniously connecting with the model of restoring Stor village (To Tung commune, Kbang district), the hometown of Hero Nup and the statue of the hero in his youth.

The entrance to the statue garden is a brilliant flower gate shaped like an octagonal sun pattern. The garden has a total of about 70 Jrai and Bahnar folk wooden statues of various sizes, imbued with traditional cultural and historical values.

Nearby, there are two more bamboo water wheels that bring out the unique features of the ethnic minorities in the North. This overall space creates an opportunity for visitors to experience traditional culture, relax, and check-in.

In addition to the above efforts, in recent times, the Provincial Museum has made many efforts to realize the goal of heritage education for students and people of all walks of life through the successful organization of a number of programs such as: About the heritage land, Cultural heritage festival, workshop "Gia Lai artists with local cultural heritage".

This place has also become a familiar destination through exhibition activities such as: the painting exhibition "Imprint of the Great Forest" by artist Mai Quy Ngoc, the photo exhibition "Memories of Pleiku"...

In addition, last year, at the exhibition "The Central Highlands in Vietnamese Painting", for the first time the Provincial Museum cooperated with the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum to introduce the form of digital painting projection to the public in Gia Lai.

Along with the traditional display, digital processing effects bring special emotions, making viewers feel immersed in the space of the work.

According to the Deputy Head of the Provincial Museum's Professional Department, in 2025, the unit will continue to invest in an outdoor exhibition area for a number of Cham cultural artifacts such as altars, restored copies of Tu Luong stone stele, etc.

Another important task is to implement Resolution No. 374/NQ-HDND of the Provincial People's Council on adjusting the investment policy of the Central Highlands Gong Cultural Space Exhibition Project with a total budget of 6.7 billion VND.

This is a component project of the Project "Preserving and promoting the heritage value of Gia Lai Gong Cultural Space in the period 2023-2025", thereby honoring the heritage and creating attraction for tourism.

The project includes the following items: renovating and converting unused rooms on the 3rd floor of the Provincial Museum such as the woodwork, textile, and leather warehouses; the corridor and office in the main building of the Provincial Museum into a separate space to display the "Central Highlands Gong Culture Space" with an expected area of 431 m2 .

“All of the above innovations come from the concerns of leaders and staff in the unit to attract the public and serve tourists better,” Ms. An affirmed.
