During the Lunar New Year of At Ty in 2025, Dak Nong province welcomed nearly 90,000 tourists, an increase of 11.9% compared to the 2024 Lunar New Year. However, to complete the goal of welcoming 803,000 visitors, Dak Nong tourism needs more "highlights".
Dak Nong province has 5 tourist areas and spots that have come into operation, welcoming tourists with many dining, entertainment, accommodation and shopping services.
The richness of natural landscapes and cultural heritage, especially traditional festivals of indigenous communities, is a favorable premise for the development of ecological, cultural and experiential tourism.
However, compared to its advantages and potential, Dak Nong tourism development is not commensurate. According to some tourism and travel agencies, to expand the tourism market, Dak Nong province needs to improve promotional activities, connect with neighboring provinces as well as organize major events to attract international visitors.
Mr. Alisan (fifth from right) had interesting experiences in Dak Nong
Recently, when having the opportunity to experience tourism in Dak Nong, Mr. Alisan, a Turkish tourist, said that he was very impressed because Dak Nong province has many interesting places, including majestic natural waterfalls along with the culture and cuisine of the indigenous people. However, what makes Mr. Alisan regret is that the service is still limited, not meeting the needs of tourists to rest and experience.
“Dak Nong still lacks communication and travel companies to operate travel services and promote Dak Nong tourism. I hope that on my second visit to Dak Nong, the locality will have many new and more attractive tourism activities,” said Alisan.
Some units have built unique tourism products associated with the cultural identity of local ethnic groups to attract tourists.
Lack of infrastructure and accommodation services; monotonous tourism products… are not enough to retain long-term visitors. Realizing this, some units have researched and built unique tourism products associated with the cultural identity of local ethnic groups with the hope of attracting more visitors.
Mr. Le Minh Phat, Manager of Cai Gui homestay, Dak Som commune, Dak Glong district, said that in addition to designing a homestay space close to nature, the unit also designed a number of experiential tourism activities to serve tourists, including enjoying rice wine and the gong cultural space, singing and telling epics of the indigenous people.
According to Mr. Phat, the unit’s tourism activities are receiving positive feedback from tourists. “We invite local artisans to perform gongs for tourists. This is a way to help tourists understand and directly feel and experience the unique cultural features of the indigenous people.”
Besides upgrading infrastructure and building tourism products, many units and businesses are currently focusing on training human resources to improve service quality.
In addition to coordinating with local authorities to open short-term training courses, some units also proactively invite tourism experts to exchange, share, and even "hand-hold" the management team and service staff.
Dak Nong province needs more resources, especially tourism businesses, to promote its values and potentials.
Mr. Tran Anh Duc, manager of Eva Eco-Village, Gia Nghia City shared: "The unit hopes that with systematic investment, step by step modernization and professionalism, Dak Nong will be an ideal destination for tourists in and outside the province."
It can be seen that exploiting the strengths of natural landscapes and indigenous culture combined with an effective promotion strategy will be the key to helping the locality attract more domestic and international tourists. Hopefully, Dak Nong will continue to become an ideal destination for those who love nature, explore culture and seek different experiences.
