I like Japanese Language but my parents want me to study Business Administration or Marketing to make it easier to find a job.
I am in grade 12 this year and am having difficulty choosing a major. I am better at social sciences and also have an advantage in foreign languages. I have a JLPT certificate (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) so I initially planned to enroll in the Japanese Language major at the University of Foreign Languages. But my parents said that graduating with a foreign language would make it difficult to find a job at companies and advised me to enroll in hot majors such as Business Administration or Marketing.
I am quite introverted and don't like to communicate much, so I think those majors are not suitable for my personality. My parents said that when I go to university, I will be exposed to a new environment and I will adapt. What do you think I should do? Continue to focus on foreign languages or listen to my parents?
