On the afternoon of September 16, MV Lomonosov Secondary and High School (My Dinh, Hanoi) sent Dan Tri newspaper 50 million VND for the program "Joining hands to rebuild Nu Village". The amount was contributed by 2,700 students and teachers of the school.
Previously, the school launched a fundraising campaign to support people affected by Typhoon Yagi. Notably, the school requested that each student donate no more than 30,000 VND.

The amount of 30,000 VND is within the students' ability to give. Students can use their savings or pocket money to support without having to ask their parents for money.
When setting a limit of 30,000 VND, students who only have 20,000 VND, 10,000 VND or even 5,000 VND to donate also feel happy.
During the implementation process, the school also requires homeroom teachers to absolutely not force or chase after achievements in terms of the number of participating students or the total amount of money raised.
In particular, classes are not allowed to use parent donations so that the charity activities are truly the children's.
Each student donated cash, in an unnamed envelope so no one could compare.
"The school launched the donation campaign on the basis of ensuring educational value, arousing the spirit of mutual support and sharing in students, but at the same time helping them feel happy and joyful when giving, avoiding showing off or comparing among children," said Mr. Nguyen Quang Tung - Principal of the school.

Talking about the reason for sending money to support the program "Joining hands to rebuild Nu village" of Dan Tri newspaper, Mr. Tung said this was the students' choice.
"The school has regularly done charity work at schools in mountainous areas for many years. This donation comes from the wishes of the students themselves.
The students proposed to the school to participate in this program after learning about the tragic consequences of Nu village and knowing about the charity program of Dan Tri newspaper.
Students and teachers of the school contribute a little bit with Dan Tri newspaper to bring people, especially children of Lang Nu village, a better life, to ease the pain they have gone through," the school representative shared.
On the morning of September 10, a terrible disaster struck Lang Nu village, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province. A violent flash flood from Con Voi mountain swept away everything, leaving behind a scene of desolation and destruction.
37 households with 158 people lost their homes in just a moment.
Nu village is no longer a home, but a ruin. 37 households need the cooperation of the whole community to rebuild their lives.
It is estimated that about 2.3 billion VND is needed to rebuild 37 houses, providing safe and stable housing for people who have lost everything.
