Learn from Uncle Ho through practical actions

In order for the study and following of Uncle Ho to truly spread and bring positive results, the provincial Women's Union at all levels has effectively implemented the breakthrough "Focusing on building a strong grassroots Union" by implementing a number of solutions to improve the effectiveness of the branches' activities. The Union has diversified its activities to attract members and women to participate according to the motto "taking women's consensus and trust as a measure of the quality and effectiveness of the Union's activities". The Union at all levels has promoted the application of information technology to improve the capacity of cadres in digital transformation and the use of social networking sites in propaganda work, mobilizing members to participate in the Union's activities. Up to now, 100% of grassroots Women's Unions have carried out propaganda and reported activities on zalo, facebook, fanpage; the women's union branches have created zalo groups; and conducted branch activities in person or online to create favorable conditions for members to participate.

Leaders of the Provincial Women's Union discussed solutions to implement Project 8 "Implementing gender equality and solving urgent issues for women and children" in the period of 2021 - 2025 in the province.

Implementing the breakthrough "Promoting potential and advantages to develop products and activities associated with tourism", the Association at all levels has launched and established clubs and economic development models to promote local advantages; support, advise, and improve capacity for members of association groups, enterprises, and cooperatives headed by women; and provide training on rural tourism development. In order to support the enhancement of women's economic power, the Association at all levels has increased mobilization of members to promote their internal strength; helped members borrow capital to develop production and business; coordinated with local authorities to review the needs and aspirations of poor and near-poor households to create a list to monitor and assist. In 2023, the whole province will have over 15,930 households with poor and near-poor women supported by the Association at all levels; of which nearly 2,830 households with women have escaped poverty and near-poverty.

Ms. Do Thi Thu Thuy, President of the Provincial Women's Union, shared: The study and following of Uncle Ho has been associated with the implementation of campaigns and emulation movements by all levels of the Union. A typical example is the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women of the new era", building the criteria of Dien Bien women being friendly, creative, aspiring, and developing, which has been widely implemented in many creative forms, encouraging a large number of members to respond and participate. Thanks to that, the awareness of members has been significantly raised, more and more women meet the criteria of the emulation movement, which are having knowledge, morality, health, and responsibility for themselves, their families, and society. Actively participating in the construction of new rural areas associated with the implementation of the campaign "Building a family of 5 no's and 3 clean" and the model "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean", the Union at all levels mobilizes members to join hands in carrying out projects and tasks contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas; Participate in planting trees, cleaning, protecting the environment...

In 2023, in order to emulate learning and following Uncle Ho, the Association launched a movement to join hands in building solidarity houses for poor women with the theme "A house of 1,000 VND from millions of loving hearts" by mobilizing each cadre and member to donate 1,000 VND or more to contribute to the province's temporary housing elimination program. The Provincial Women Entrepreneurs Club built a warm home for poor women with a total value of 90 million VND. In addition, the Association at all levels continued to effectively implement the "Godmother" program to call for and connect with benefactors to sponsor orphans in the area; deploy many activities to care for poor women and children...

Promoting learning and following Uncle Ho through specific and practical actions, the provincial Women's Union at all levels has created a clear change in awareness, sense of responsibility, working style, ethics and lifestyle of cadres and members. Learning and following Uncle Ho has increasingly spread widely and become a regular activity of the members. From there, it helps the Women's Union at all levels to perform well the core tasks and emulation movements, contributing to affirming the role and position of women in today's society.
