Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, said that in 2024, the Vietnam Circus Federation will have more than 20 programs with focused investment in both scale and artistic quality. In particular, the Federation will coordinate with a unit in Japan to combine magic with circus, bringing ninja to the Vietnamese circus stage.
In addition, many programs will be invested in and staged or renewed by the federation to serve the audience such as: "Flying Rose Petals", "Circus and Magic Gala of 3 Regions", "Circus and Rock", "Green Dreams", "Mermaid Story", "Tam Cam, Bong Bong, Bang Bang"...
"In particular, cultural programs and historical events such as the program "Living forever with Dien Bien" - commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory, the program "Going with the years" - commemorating the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), the program "Hanoi in my heart" - commemorating the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the capital (October 10)... will be recreated by the Vietnam Circus Federation in circus language with the participation of the most talented circus artists of the federation" - People's Artist Tong Toan Thang said.
As someone who is always proactive in finding his own path, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang - Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation has announced 20 large-scale art programs invested in 2024.
It can be said that among the highlights of the 2024 activities, the program "Going with the years" is the program staged for the 6th year, has created an impression, brand and is very emotional. The excerpt "Cuc oi" of the Federation even made the audience cry and this excerpt won the excellent award at the 2023 National Festival of Good Excerpts of Stage Art organized by the Vietnam Stage Artists Association.
Experts highly appreciate the programs that the Vietnam Circus Federation will introduce to audiences in 2024. Last year, despite facing many economic difficulties, People's Artist Tong Toan Thang steered the circus industry to remarkable development. It was the audience's response to the new programs that helped the federation do better and more professionally with the 20 programs of 2024.
The excerpt "Cuc oi" by the Federation even made the audience cry and this excerpt won the excellent award at the National Festival of Good Excerpts of Stage Arts in 2023.
People's Artist Tam Chinh - former Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation shared that she was very impressed when People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, together with the Board of Directors and staff and artists of the Vietnam Circus Federation, did things that the previous generation could not think of and do. For 5 consecutive years, the Vietnam Circus Federation always had a plan to perform the programs of the year. Each year, the number of programs is increasingly invested in quality, clearly enhancing artistic value.
Specifically, this March, the program "Flying Roses - Vietnamese Circus Princess" will open a series of 20 art performances by the Vietnam Circus Federation. This year's program has the theme "Vietnamese Circus Princess", performed at the Central Circus Theater (67 - 69 Tran Nhan Tong, Hanoi).
This is a completely new program, with the participation of many excellent female artists from the Circus Federation, who won high prizes at circus festivals at home and abroad in 2023. In particular, the program has the participation of typical female circus artists from guest units such as: Vietnam Circus and Variety Arts College or Hanoi Circus and Variety Arts Theater.
And the circus art program "Living forever with Dien Bien" is scheduled to be held on May 4, 5, 11 and 12 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory.
People's Artist Tong Toan Thang said: "This year, the Federation will reach out more deeply to tourism businesses and units that coordinate to produce art products to diversify investment forms for art. This is also to implement the State's policy of investing in culture and art, combining tourism development, supporting the consumption of traditional craft products, helping customers have the opportunity to choose art products suitable for each performance time."
