In the concentrated pumpkin production field of Hoang Luu commune, in recent times, the introduction of modern machinery and the application of science and technology into production has partly solved the previous labor shortage. Comrade Le Ngoc Hanh, Chairman of Hoang Luu Commune People's Committee, said: The commune has mobilized people to consolidate fields, exchange plots, and concentrate land for businesses to rent land, forming rotating production areas for crops such as pumpkins, potatoes, squash, soybeans, and various vegetables... With an area of over 21 hectares, Xuan Minh Investment and Construction Company Limited has invested in modern machinery in the stages of land preparation, harvesting, and preservation... In particular, the installation of an automatic misting irrigation system has brought many advantages, such as reducing labor, water is watered in small, fine, light, and even particles from leaves to stems and roots of plants, without causing damage but penetrating deep into the soil, helping plants to always have enough moisture to grow and develop well, limiting pests and diseases. In addition, all products after harvest are purchased by the enterprise at the price committed in the contract.

Determining that large-scale agricultural development, high-tech agriculture, and clean agriculture are inevitable directions, Hoang Hoa district has focused on accumulating and concentrating nearly 400 hectares to form large-scale concentrated production areas such as F1 hybrid rice production areas, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, etc. In addition, nearly 450 hectares of high-tech production area, more than 200 hectares of production according to VietGAP standards; 4.5 hectares of greenhouses and net houses for growing Kim Hoang Hau melons, baby cucumbers, safe vegetables, etc. Currently, many communes have also promoted the application of tray-planting technology, and the application of spraying pesticides by drones. In particular, people have initially become familiar with digital transformation in agricultural production with large-scale crop and livestock farms installed with modern machinery, surveillance cameras to record information about sowing dates, fertilization, care, QR codes for traceability, automatic feeding and watering systems, sensors to control barn temperature, and automated incubators... From there, labor costs have been limited, product quality and disease safety have been ensured...

Not only cultivation and animal husbandry, aquaculture is also an advantageous field of coastal communes with more than 2,816 hectares of aquaculture. Of which, more than 1,438 hectares of black tiger shrimp farming, 304 hectares of white-leg shrimp farming intensively, applying high technology, concentrated in the communes of Hoang Yen, Hoang Luu, Hoang Chau, Hoang Phong... have applied science and technology, invested in building a settling pond system to supply water to farming ponds and settling ponds to treat wastewater before discharging into the environment; implemented management of environmental factors, feed quantity through software applications on phones... To improve the efficiency of agricultural production, create conditions to attract enterprises to cooperate in production, and consume products, the district has mobilized and integrated investment resources for infrastructure development to serve production. Up to now, the irrigation infrastructure system has met 80 - 85% of irrigation and drainage needs; Intra-field traffic has been invested, upgraded, and expanded, facilitating travel and transportation of production materials and harvesting. In concentrated production areas, 100% of crop areas have been actively irrigated, with a modern and synchronous traffic system...

Hoang Hoa district strives to have 1,250 hectares of large-scale agricultural production by 2025; 880 hectares of high-tech and high-tech cultivation and aquaculture; 200 hectares of cultivation and aquaculture certified to meet VietGAP and organic standards.

Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Trong Hoa said: Based on the potential and strengths of the locality, Hoang Hoa district continues to invest in developing key products, developing concentrated production areas... At the same time, actively transferring science and technology, absorbing and applying modern technological processes in cultivation, livestock, aquaculture, production according to VietGAP standards; in which, focusing on widely applying advanced technologies in preserving agricultural products, reducing the rate of loss after harvest such as agricultural drying technology; technology for preliminary processing, preserving fresh vegetables, flowers, fruits on a concentrated scale... On the other hand, encouraging people to replicate agricultural models applying science and technology, investing in building greenhouses, net houses, drip irrigation systems, automating production with crops that meet market demand.
