On October 14, according to information from the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Giang - Chairman of the People's Committee of the province - signed a decision to impose an administrative fine of 235 million VND on Hoa Tung gold shop (Tran Phu ward, Quang Ngai city). This is the oldest and most famous gold shop in Quang Ngai.

Hoa Tung Gold Shop was fined for "trading foreign currency at an organization not permitted to exchange or buy and sell foreign currency with a value from 1,000 USD to less than 10,000 USD; buying and selling counterfeit goods with a value from 100 - 200 million VND".

Previously, the Department of Investigation Police on Crime, Economy, Smuggling, and Environment - Quang Ngai Provincial Police discovered that the private enterprise Hoa Tung Gold brand had been buying and selling many types of foreign currencies such as USD, Japanese Yen, Canadian Dollar...

Police also discovered that Hoa Tung gold shop displayed 6 gold-colored metal products engraved with the Gucci brand name; 36 gold-colored products engraved with the Chanel brand name but without invoices or documents proving their origin.

The police then drew up a record of violations against Hoa Tung gold shop. At the same time, they advised the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to issue a decision to administratively sanction the two above violations.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee then issued a decision to administratively fine Hoa Tung Gold Shop VND235 million. Of which, a fine of VND30 million was imposed for trading and exchanging foreign currency; a fine of VND205 million was imposed for trading and displaying counterfeit goods.

In addition to the fine, the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province also confiscated all foreign currency, along with gold-colored metal products engraved with the Gucci and Chanel brand names.

Hoa Tung Gold Shop has a long history of gold trading and is very famous in Quang Ngai.
