Located about 5km from Coc Pai town, Xin Man district, about 150km from Ha Giang city and at an altitude of over 1,200m above sea level, Suoi Thau grassland has the wild and majestic beauty of the western land of Ha Giang province. During this time, Suoi Thau grassland is filled with corn fields, green grasslands, and buckwheat flowers blooming in the midst of a sea of white clouds as far as the eye can see. Buckwheat is a fragile but extremely durable flower. This flower can withstand the cold, blooming brilliantly on the barren rocky soil of the plateau. In Ha Giang, buckwheat is grown as food, made into cakes and other local dishes. Buckwheat flowers begin to bloom in late autumn. The small, fragile, purple-pink flowers gently blend in with the rolling mountains of Ha Giang. This is also the flower that signals Ha Giang has entered the tourist season, the most beautiful season of the year. In buckwheat flower season, the monotonous sky of Suoi Thau becomes more lyrical and poetic than ever. Visitors can admire the buckwheat flower fields blooming in the sea of clouds from mid-October to late November. However, the buckwheat flowers are most beautiful when they are about to wither, changing color from white to light pink and then dark red. In recent years, buckwheat has been planted in many places such as Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Meo Vac, Dong Van... tourists can easily find and comfortably admire the flower carpet winding along the hills of Ha Giang. Buckwheat flowers have become a highlight, attracting a large number of tourists to Ha Giang every year, especially young people with a passion for discovery.
