For the first time, a peace-themed festival was held in Quang Tri at a national level, aiming at an international level, opening on the night of July 6 and lasting nearly a month. Of course, young people will not stay out of this meaningful event. Together, they are becoming “peace ambassadors” in their own way.

MESSAGE FROM THE “IDOLS”

The Peace Festival has received special attention from youth “idols”. They have become peace ambassadors for the program and spread messages of peace to fans across the country.

First is Rapper Den Vau. This Quang Ninh native appeared in a clip talking about his special experiences and feelings about Quang Tri with honest and simple sharing. "Young people, if you have time, come to Quang Tri once!", Den Vau called out. He explained that only when you come to this sacred land, burn incense on the graves of martyrs, will you understand the value of peace, thereby having more motivation and strength to work, study, and build your homeland.

Artist Tang Duy Tan also appeared with the message “Hope that young people can inherit, promote and build a strong and hopeful future”. As a native of Quang Tri, Tan knows better than anyone that every inch of his homeland bears the footprints of heroes who sacrificed and fell to protect independence and understands more deeply the value of peace.

Miss Grand Vietnam 2022 Doan Thien An shared: “We often talk about peace, about fighting for a better world. However, peace will never be sustainable if the problem of violence is not resolved. Many people still think that violence is a phrase that refers to when we physically impact or harm someone. But no, violence is divided into many different types, and I have been a victim of verbal violence.”

Miss Grand Vietnam 2023, Miss Grand International 2023 runner-up Le Hoang Phuong, in her role as "ambassador" of the Festival for Peace, briefly stated her opinion: "To me, peace is respecting differences, understanding and sympathy."

But not only “youth idols” can spread the message of For Peace, contribute to the festival… other young people are expressing themselves in their own way. “You and I, together become ambassadors for Peace”, the call of the Organizing Committee of the For Peace Festival strongly urges young people to express their feelings and aspirations. Whoever you are, in Vietnam or somewhere around the world, we can all join hands to build a better world…

Since early June, the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union has called on young people to apply to become volunteers. 150 people have been "selected" and trained in skills to participate in the Festival for Peace with the following topics: General introduction to the history and culture of Quang Tri; introduction and promotion of tourism, famous landscapes and places and culinary and entertainment services in Quang Tri province; introduction to international cultural behaviors, skills and standards needed in international communication and diplomatic protocol work; general introduction to the Festival for Peace in 2024, overview of programs and activities...

Hoang Dinh Tuan (28 years old), a native of Quang Tri living and working in Ho Chi Minh City, still arranged time to return to his hometown on the occasion of the Festival for Peace, just to be a... volunteer. "The call of my homeland is always in my heart. I believe I can fulfill my duties as a volunteer well," Tuan affirmed.

There are many ways for young people to “join hands” with the Festival for Peace. They can be extras on the opening night, people who bring water to athletes on the Cycling Day for Peace recently organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, people who pick up trash left after the food festival at Cua Viet… Even when they are at home, young people can still “support” the festival through cyberspace, by changing the festival icon frame, sharing related articles.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Youth Union, acknowledged that most young people are ready to join hands to make the Festival for Peace a success. “This is a festival, a big event of Quang Tri province and the whole country. Therefore, Youth Union officials, members, and young people will participate with all their enthusiasm, affection, and responsibility… In addition to inspiring the youth, we will also actively mobilize the participation of local people. Together, we will go further and achieve more success,” Ms. Thu said.
