On August 26, Vo Hong Son Center for Education of Disabled Children (Cho Chua Town, Nghia Hanh District, Quang Ngai) held the opening ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year. Attending were Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Science and Technology and leaders of Quang Ngai province.
On this occasion, sponsors supported Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities with 1.5 billion VND.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new school year 2023 - 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Director of Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities, emphasized: "The Center was established in 2014. From the very first days of its establishment, we always kept in mind that no matter how difficult or challenging it was, we were determined to overcome it to raise disabled children in difficult circumstances in our hometown of Quang Ngai, contributing with families and society to alleviate some of the burden and pain of less fortunate children, helping them have a more meaningful and better life."
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, thanks to the timely attention and help of local leaders and the kind hearts of near and far volunteers who have always believed, supported and accompanied, every year this center educates hundreds of disabled children in Quang Ngai province, providing accommodation, cultural education and vocational training completely free of charge.
"Today, in this solemn atmosphere, on behalf of the teachers, staff and students of the center, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the leaders at all levels, agencies and benefactors near and far who have always joined hands and stood shoulder to shoulder to help the center overcome all difficulties, step by step maintain, stabilize and develop," Ms. Ha expressed.
Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat acknowledged and commended the efforts of the staff, teachers and employees of the Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities over the past years. In addition to studying, students are given the opportunity to participate in many meaningful activities to integrate into the community.
"I hope that the staff, teachers and employees of the center will continue to perform well the core tasks of teaching and learning; at the same time, I hope that the leaders of Quang Ngai province and the locality, along with organizations, individuals and benefactors, will pay attention, support and help the center to contribute to building an increasingly better and civilized society," said Mr. Huynh Thanh Dat.
In the 2023-2024 school year, Vo Hong Son Center for Children with Disabilities will enroll 16 more students, bringing the total number of students this school year to 119 with 34 staff, teachers and employees. In addition, the center also has a number of mental health care consultants, social work support staff...
During this school year, in addition to maintaining the existing vocational classes at the main center, Vo Hong Son Center for the Education of Disabled Children continues to support 7 children to study at the second facility in Ho Chi Minh City. Of these, 1 child will study both general education and vocational training, 1 child will study advanced sewing, 3 children will study jewelry design, and 2 children will study cosmetology assistants.
In the coming time, Vo Hong Son Center for Education of Disabled Children will continue to consider and help children who are qualified to study at advanced levels in Ho Chi Minh City.
