Many parents in Tan My residential area, Quang Phuc ward (Ba Don town, Quang Binh province) have not allowed their primary school students to go to school for many days.
While students across the country returned to school after the 2025 Lunar New Year holiday, in Tan My Residential Area, Quang Phuc Ward ( Ba Don Town, Quang Binh Province), many parents with children studying at Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 (Tan My campus) did not send their children to school (a total of 154 children have not gone to school).
The reason given by many parents is that they do not agree with the policy of sending primary school students from Tan My school to study at the main school of Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 ( Ba Don town, Quang Binh province), because the main school is far from the residential area.
Many parents still send their children to Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 (Tan My campus), while this school is degraded and the government has announced that students will be transferred to the main campus (more than 1km away).
Regarding the above incident, speaking with Dan Viet Newspaper reporter, Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh - Chairman of Quang Phuc Ward People's Committee said: "Recently, the Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 in Tan My Residential Area had 7 classrooms that were seriously degraded. The construction quality inspection unit (under the Department of Construction) came to inspect and assess that it was not safe, so the locality closed this school and notified parents to send their children to study at the main school more than 1km away. However, many parents did not agree and did not send their students to the main school."
"We are promoting and mobilizing primary school parents to bring their children to the main school early to ensure the rights of students," said Mr. Nguyen Tien Thanh.

Over the phone, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Ba Don town (Quang Binh province) informed that sending primary school students from the satellite school of Quang Phuc Primary School No. 1 in Tan My residential area (Quang Phuc ward) to study at the main school, more than 1km away, is the right policy of the locality.
The closure of Tan My school was a reluctant decision to ensure the safety of students and teachers. However, to resolve the issue once and for all, the government needs to listen to the people’s legitimate aspirations and provide practical support during the transition period.
