The 1-1 result means Binh Duong are still without a win. Despite escaping the bottom spot, they are only one point ahead of Da Nang, having played one more match. Binh Duong will play their next match on May 27, against defending champions Hanoi. Meanwhile, Khanh Hoa jumped one place to eighth with 10 points, one point ahead of HAGL, who are second. In round 9, coach Vo Dinh Tan's team will travel to the North to visit Hai Phong on May 26.
