Da Nang is located between three world cultural heritages: Hue Imperial City, Hoi An Ancient Town, and My Son Sanctuary. This location has turned Da Nang into a "transit point" nearly 20 years ago, bringing tourists to tourist destinations, while the Han River city is just a "temporary stopover".

In 2007, in response to that burning desire, there were dedicated investors who joined hands and put their efforts to put Da Nang on the tourism map. That was also the time that marked the appearance of Sun Group with the largest project in the Central region at that time: Ba Na Hills.

The top of the cloud mountain was already a tourist destination at that time, but the old accommodation establishments here only had guests during the three summer months. To diversify tourism products, the city of the Han River also treats visitors to a jubilant festival atmosphere all year round, with the brand name of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival, attractive events such as grand music festivals, street carnivals, a series of unique and colorful festivals at Ba Na Hills, Asia Park, Ironman 70.3 Vietnam, Da Nang Golf Tourism Festival... In 2022, surpassing 8 leading destinations in Asia such as: Bangkok - Thailand, Beijing, Shanghai - China, Hong Kong, Macau, Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia, Seoul - Korea, Singapore, Da Nang was honored as "Asia's Leading Festival and Event Destination". This is the second time the city has received this prestigious award.

It can be said that investing in tourism products is a strategic "move" that brings a "new destiny" to Da Nang. From 2009 to 2018, the number of visitors here increased by 463%. In 2019 (before the pandemic), Da Nang welcomed 8.6 million visitors, of which international visitors reached 3.5 million. Da Nang was ranked highest according to the assessment of the Vietnam Provincial Tourism Competitiveness Index (VTCI) - announced by the Tourism Advisory Board on January 18, 2022.

The collection of unique, high-class products has helped Da Nang tourism "change its throne" dramatically. However, the investment, innovation, upgrading of tourism products, and diversifying experiences for visitors of Da Nang will certainly continue to be considered the "trump card" in many subsequent stages of development.
