On June 21, Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhu Hoai (owner of a fried dough shop on Rach Bung Binh Street, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) shared with Tuoi Tre Online about the beautiful act of a little boy when he discovered a phone on the shop's counter. The incident was recorded by the camera in front of the shop.
Specifically, at around 11pm on June 19, a store employee cleaned up the store and then left the phone on the counter.
At around 11:47 p.m., a 10-year-old boy was walking by and saw the phone on the counter. The boy picked up the phone and looked at it, then held it up to the camera in front of the store.
Next, the boy put the phone under the cabinet on the counter.
Seeing a piece of cardboard on the ground, the boy tore it off and covered the phone on the counter. Before leaving, he grabbed a glass of water to cover it further.
About 2 minutes after the boy left, a man holding a sandwich walked to the counter, took the phone and left.
On the morning of June 20, Ms. Hoai looked for her phone to open the sales application but could not find it. After reviewing the camera, she discovered the incident as above.
"The boy held the phone up to the camera to let me know that the phone was left behind, so he hid it for me. He tore off a piece of paper to cover it, but seeing that it wasn't enough, he tore off another piece. Still not satisfied, he pushed a cup to cover it," said Ms. Hoai.
Regarding the man who took the phone, she thinks that this person might have been nearby and saw the child's actions so he came to take the phone away.
Ms. Hoai shared that she wanted to meet the child again to thank him for his kind act, but she has not seen him pass by since yesterday.
"The boy saw the phone but didn't take it, his actions were so cute. I wanted to thank him for his good actions, I wanted to send him something to make him happy. Even though I lost the phone, I felt happy because of his cute actions," Ms. Hoai shared.
Ms. Hoai also said she did not report the incident of the man taking the phone to the authorities because it was not of high value, and the phone was left on the counter by an employee.
