It is estimated that the capital Hanoi welcomed about 1 million tourists, an increase of 6% over the same period last year during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday (from January 25 to February 2).
According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the above number includes 142 thousand international tourists (the leading markets are China, South Korea, Taiwan (China), the US, UK, Malaysia, India, Germany, France, Japan...) and 859 thousand domestic tourists (mainly residents of the capital and some local residents in neighboring areas such as Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Bac Giang).

Total revenue from tourists is estimated at VND3,530 billion, up 7.85% over the same period last year.
Right from the days before Tet, the work of organizing to welcome tourists during the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025 at tourist areas and attractions has been carefully prepared.
In particular, tourist areas and attractions have focused on upgrading the quality of tourism services, launching many new tourism programs and products as well as organizing cultural activities and art performances to stimulate demand and attract tourists to visit and experience.
During the Lunar New Year holiday this year, the whole city held many exciting and attractive events to attract tourists.
With the spirit of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, turning culture into a resource and driving force for economic development, especially tourism economy, a series of activities and events took place before Tet.
In particular, activities and events lasting throughout the Lunar New Year allow visitors to the capital to experience the traditional Tet atmosphere of the Northern Delta region, such as: "Vietnamese Village Tet 2025" program at Mong Phu Communal House Space - Ancient Village Tourist Destination in Duong Lam (Son Tay Town); Celebrating Tet at the Cultural Village of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups (Dong Mo, Son Tay Town); "Spring Colors of At Ty 2025" program at Ho Guom Cultural Information Center; "Vietnamese Tet - Street Tet 2025" program at Phung Hung Street Mural Space; Exhibition of Traditional Tet Space and Introduction, performance of the "Farewell to the Old, Welcome to the New" ceremony at Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Site...
Also during and after the Lunar New Year, tourist areas and attractions in the city continue to organize vibrant and attractive cultural and artistic activities to attract tourists such as: The art program "Brilliant Thang Long 2025" at My Dinh National Stadium and the F1 Racetrack area (Nam Tu Liem district); The New Year 2025 performance program takes place on New Year's Eve at Ngoc Son Temple, the stage in front of the Death to Die Monument for the Fatherland (Ba Kieu Temple area, Hoan Kiem district); Lac Long Quan flower garden (Tay Ho district); Van Quan lake (Ha Dong district), "Garden in the Clouds" Festival at Bao Son Paradise Park...
In addition, localities are also carefully preparing and ready to organize major festivals at the beginning of the new year such as Huong Pagoda Festival, Giong Festival at Soc Temple; Co Loa Traditional Festival, Dong Da Mound Festival, Hai Ba Trung Temple Festival, Tan Vien Son Thanh Festival.
Also at the beginning of the year, the Hanoi Department of Tourism presided over and coordinated with the People's Committee of Hai Ba Trung District to organize the Hanoi Tourism Program to Welcome 2025 at the National Special Monument Tourist Site; the Department of Tourism also co-chaired with the City Union of Friendship Organizations to organize the 2025 Friendship Spring Tour program in Me Linh District - these are the opening tourism promotion, advertising and stimulus activities of the capital's tourism industry in 2025.
Along with that, hotels in the city also have many activities to attract and welcome guests to stay during the Lunar New Year holiday with many different forms such as promotions, discounts, and giving away some services when staying at the facility.
