On February 2nd, Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Hue City Department of Tourism , stated that Hue's tourism industry achieved a "big win" this year compared to last year's Tet holiday.
Accordingly, during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday of the Year of the Snake (2015), the estimated number of visitors to Hue city reached over 150,342, an increase of 36.67% compared to the same Lunar New Year holiday in 2024.
Of these, international visitors are estimated at 69,062, an increase of 81% compared to the same period in 2024; domestic visitors are estimated at 81,280, an increase of 12.98% compared to the same period.
Tourism revenue during this year's Tet holiday is estimated at 245 billion VND, an increase of 48.48% compared to 2024.
The number of tourists staying in Hue reached approximately 71,110, an increase of 29.3% compared to the same period of the Lunar New Year holiday (of which international tourists accounted for an estimated 33,451, an increase of 7.9% compared to the same period; domestic tourists accounted for an estimated 37,659, an increase of 56.9% compared to the same period). The occupancy rate was estimated at 68%.
From the 2nd to the 4th day of Tet (Lunar New Year), the occupancy rate of some 4-5 star hotels reached over 80%.
Ms. Tram also stated that during the Tet holiday, Phu Bai Airport welcomed and served approximately 112,500 passengers (67,500 arriving passengers and 45,000 departing passengers) on nearly 300 flights.
To achieve such figures, Ms. Tram said that the tourism industry has made every effort in organizing safe Lunar New Year celebrations, arranging interactive tours, and offering traditional cultural experiences to welcome tourists to Hue city.

Travel companies also organize tours for tourists to experience traditional folk games reflecting the ancient culture of Tet in Hue; services such as renting traditional ao dai for souvenir photos at famous tourist attractions in Hue city are also being promoted…
One of the notable highlights that attracts tourists to Hue is that over the past year, the Hue Ancient Citadel Relics Conservation Center has completed the restoration of many important structures, making them available to tourists, such as the Thai Hoa Palace, the Kien Trung Palace, and organizing the Imperial Palace Tet festival…
"Tourism and travel services have seen positive changes at the beginning of the year. Localities, units, and businesses have organized recreational activities to serve the needs of tourists for sightseeing, shopping, relaxation, celebrating the Lunar New Year, and attending festivals. These activities have been enthusiastically received and participated in by tourists, demonstrating the role of friendly and hospitable hosts," Ms. Tram said.
