On February 2, Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, director of Hue City's Department of Tourism, said that Hue's tourism industry this year "won big" compared to last year's Tet holiday.
Accordingly, during the 9-day Lunar New Year holiday, the estimated number of visitors to Hue city is more than 150,342, an increase of 36.67% compared to the same period of Tet 2024.
Of which, international visitors are estimated at 69,062, up 81% over the same period in 2024; domestic visitors are estimated at 81,280, up 12.98% over the same period.
Revenue from tourism during Tet this year is estimated at 245 billion VND, an increase of 48.48% compared to 2024.
The number of visitors staying in Hue is about 71,110, an increase of 29.3% compared to the same period of the Giap Thin Tet holiday (of which international visitors are estimated at 33,451, an increase of 7.9% compared to the same period; domestic visitors are estimated at 37,659, an increase of 56.9% compared to the same period). Room occupancy is estimated at 68%.
From the 2nd to the 4th day of Tet, the room occupancy rate of some 4-5 star hotels reached over 80%.
Ms. Tram also said that during Tet, Phu Bai Airport welcomed and served about 112,500 passengers (67,500 arrivals and 45,000 departures) of nearly 300 flights.
To achieve such figures, Ms. Tram said that the tourism industry has made every effort to organize safe traditional Tet celebrations, arrange interactive tours, and experience traditional culture to welcome visitors to Hue city.
