(Dan Tri) - After 10 years of exploitation, Son Doong - the world's largest cave in Quang Binh has welcomed more than 7,500 tourists.
Mr. Nguyen Chau A, representative of the Son Doong Cave tourism exploitation unit, said that after a decade of opening to tourists, the world's largest cave has welcomed more than 7,500 people. Notably, about 20 people have conquered this cave from 2 to 8 times.
Tourists exploring Son Doong Cave come from all over the world, with Vietnam leading with 3,123 visitors, followed by the US with 1,851 visitors, Australia with 461 visitors, the UK with 280 visitors, Canada with 224 visitors, and the rest from other countries.

Tourism activities at Son Doong have created 130 direct jobs for local people, including positions such as porters, chefs, safety assistants, and guides.
Total revenue from Son Doong expedition tours has exceeded 528 billion VND, of which more than 167 billion VND has been paid into the state budget.
Besides Son Doong, every year nearly 40,000 tourists join cave exploration tours in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (Quang Binh), making this place the world's largest destination for cave exploration tourism.
Son Doong Cave is located in the middle of Phong Nha - Ke Bang forest of Quang Binh province, first discovered by a local in 1990.
In 2009, Son Doong was discovered by the British Royal Cave Association and announced as the largest cave on the planet. Since its announcement, Son Doong Cave has shocked the world with its incredibly huge size and unique cave formations that cannot be found anywhere else.
In 2014, Quang Binh province allowed Son Doong Cave to be exploited for tourism, with the number of visitors not exceeding 1,000 per year.
