Vietnam Airlines announced that it will receive and transport free of charge relief goods from agencies, groups, organizations, and businesses on flights operated by Vietnam Airlines Group, including Vietnam Airlines, Pacific Airlines, and Vasco.
Specifically, relief goods will be exempted from transportation fees, fuel surcharges and related fees by Vietnam Airlines Group, and will be given priority loading on flights from airports across the country to Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bi (Hai Phong), Vinh (Nghe An), Tho Xuan (Thanh Hoa), Van Don (Quang Ninh), Dien Bien.
Organizations and individuals wishing to transport goods to support storm and flood relief efforts to the Northern provinces can contact the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels; People's Committees of provinces and cities; Vietnam Red Cross Associations at all levels, and charitable funds (licensed and chartered by state agencies) to receive exemption from shipping fees.
Similarly, Bamboo Airways officially announced that it will transport free relief goods for people in the northern provinces in flood-hit areas from September 11 to September 26.
Accordingly, essential goods (including necessities and essential items) to support people in flood-affected areas will be reserved and given priority for free transportation on Bamboo Airways flights as soon as possible. This policy is applied to all Bamboo Airways flights departing from Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Cam Ranh, Quy Nhon, Da Lat to Hanoi.
Bamboo Airways notes that in order to transport relief goods quickly and smoothly, the goods must be packaged in sturdy packages. Each package must not exceed 40kg and each shipment must not exceed 500kg. Each flight will carry a maximum of 500kg of aid goods.
At the same time, agencies and units that need to send goods need to have an official dispatch and a detailed list of relief items. Bamboo Airways will not accept to transport goods that are devices, items containing batteries inside, or goods and items containing dangerous goods to ensure aviation security and safety.
Vietjet Air representative said that the unit will waive shipping fees for relief goods from domestic and foreign organizations and individuals to flood-affected people from now until September 20.
In addition, Vietjet will also donate 5,000 VND from each air ticket sold from now until September 30 to support people recovering their lives after the storm and flood; the total amount of money donated is estimated to be about 5 billion VND.
In the immediate future, the airline has allocated 2 billion VND to purchase food, clean water, medicine and other necessities to promptly provide to help people overcome difficulties and repair damage.
Vietnam Railways Corporation also announced that from September 11, the unit will receive free support for transporting relief goods for people in provinces affected by storm No. 3 from organizations and individuals through the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Fatherland Front, and the Provincial Red Cross. The stations where the goods are gathered are Saigon, Song Than (Binh Duong province), Nha Trang, Da Nang, Hue, Dong Hoi, Vinh, Thanh Hoa; the places where the goods are received are Giap Bat and Hanoi stations.
