On the afternoon of July 25, leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association had a working session on tourism promotion with representatives of Buyeo City, Chungcheongnam-do Province (South Korea).
Speaking directly with the delegation of the neighboring province, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan, Permanent Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Travel Association, under the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, said that recently, Ho Chi Minh City businesses have signed cooperation agreements and worked with many Korean businesses.

The familiar tourist route of Vietnamese visitors to Korea mainly includes Seoul, Nami, Everland, Busan and in the near future there will be more interesting destinations in Chungcheongnam-do province.
To stimulate two-way tourism, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan proposed that the neighboring province create conditions for Ho Chi Minh City travel businesses to research the market and meet reputable travel businesses in Korea; at the same time, invite provincial leaders as well as businesses to participate in ITE HCMC 2023 - a prestigious annual international tourism trade event taking place this September, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

"Regarding language, in addition to using English and Korean, you can create conditions for qualified Vietnamese people living and working in Korea to become tour guides for Vietnamese tourist groups. Next, we suggest that you support visa policies or send contacts for us to connect directly," said Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tan.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh, Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, acknowledged that Korean localities are very proactive in connecting and attracting tourists from Ho Chi Minh City in particular and Vietnam in general to Korea. As for the association, since the beginning of the year, it has also welcomed and worked with many delegations from the neighboring country's provinces and cities, in order to promote two-way tourism between Korea and Vietnam.
On the side of Buyeo City, Chungcheongnam-do Province (South Korea), Buye was once the capital of the ancient Baekje Dynasty - a powerhouse in Southeast Asia, with a developed culture about 1,400 years ago. Besides, some other famous tourist destinations in Buyeo such as Gungnamji, Baekjebo, Baekje Cultural Land...; cultural festivals are held annually such as Baekje Walking festa, Daebaek ritual...; the province's first Lotte Outlet is quite attractive to visitors...

Visitors can travel here by expressway from Seoul - Buyeo, taking about 2 hours; or using expressway from Cheongju International Airport - Buyeo, about 1.5 hours…
"In addition to promoting and attracting tourists, we also hope to cooperate and transfer technology in the field of high-tech agriculture," said Mr. Jeong Junsoo, representative of the Korean tourism promotion delegation.
According to data from the Korea Tourism Organization in Vietnam, as of early June this year, Korea welcomed more than 163,000 tourists from Vietnam, reaching 73% compared to the same period in 2019. This is an extremely positive sign of recovery of Korean tourism in the Vietnamese market.
