Two new records set at the "Promoting Vietnamese culinary culture" festival

Taking place over 3 days from October 20-22 at the Reunification Palace, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, the festival “Promoting Vietnamese culinary culture” brings a journey of experiences full of flavors and emotions to participants with more than 100 culinary booths typical of the regions.

The festival is organized with the support of MAGGI brand - Nestlé Vietnam Co., Ltd., Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, Saigon Professional Chefs Association and Center for Research, Conservation and Development of Vietnamese Cuisine.

In addition to the exhibition, the festival also has many exciting activities such as culinary performances, 3-region food display, food promotion, award activities and a wall of fame honoring Vietnamese chefs...

In particular, at this festival, there were 2 new records for the culinary map. The first is the Vietnam Culinary - Cultural Map Phase 2 with 126 dishes - typical specialties of 63 provinces and cities meticulously prepared by culinary artists. The delegates present at the opening ceremony of the festival attended the departure ceremony of the North - South train.

The model train started running, taking participants through landmarks along the S-shaped land with typical dishes, symbolizing the journey to experience the richness and diversity of the country's cuisine.

At the same time, also at the festival, the online culinary map - an activity within the framework of the cooperation project to enhance Vietnamese cuisine called "Variations - Thousands of ingredients, Cooking millions of Vietnamese dishes" between the MAGGI brand and the Tourism Information Center - Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, was awarded the record by the Vietnam Record Organization as the Online Map with the largest number of Vietnamese dishes contributed by the community.

After just over a month of launching, the map has recorded 9,422 recipes contributed by locals and the community of Vietnamese food lovers across the country. Of which, the 5 provinces and cities with the most dishes cooked from local ingredients are Bac Giang (371 dishes), Ho Chi Minh City (280 dishes), Hanoi (193 dishes), An Giang (161 dishes) and Ba Ria - Vung Tau (151 dishes).

Mr. Nguyen Trung Khanh, Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, shared: “The Vietnam tourism development strategy to 2030 has identified culinary culture as one of the important product lines contributing to enhancing the competitiveness and brand of Vietnam tourism. The cooperation between the Tourism Information Center under the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the MAGGI brand to implement the project “Variations - Thousands of ingredients, Cooking millions of Vietnamese dishes”, building a map of recipes of 63 provinces and cities across the country is one of the initiatives to promote Vietnam tourism - cuisine.

We always support and accompany localities, associations, businesses, chefs and artisans nationwide in activities to build the value of Vietnamese culinary brands and promote widely at home and abroad."

In order to honor the local cultural and culinary values, contributing to making culinary tourism a strategic product of Vietnam tourism, from July 11, 2023, the Tourism Information Center, Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the MAGGI brand, Nestlé Vietnam Company Limited signed a strategic cooperation agreement to promote Vietnamese tourism - cuisine - culture to the world through the Project "Variations - Thousands of ingredients, Cooking millions of Vietnamese dishes".

The project aims to contribute to promoting the cuisine of 63 localities to people nationwide, to chefs in different regions and to millions of domestic and international tourists.
