Quickly put happy schools into practice
Building happy schools is the goal of many schools in Vietnam. In Ha Tinh province, this has been focused on implementation in recent years.

By the 2022-2023 school year, to serve as a basis for the departments of education in the whole province to advise and implement, the Department of Education and Training issued Decision No. 1168/QD-SGDĐT dated October 17, 2022 on the establishment of the Steering Committee for building Happy Schools in educational institutions in Ha Tinh province;
Decision No. 1169/QD-SGDĐT dated October 17, 2022 promulgating the temporary set of criteria for Happy Schools in educational institutions in Ha Tinh province; Plan No. 2186/KH-SGDĐT dated October 17, 2022 on implementing the construction of Happy Schools for educational institutions in Ha Tinh province and organizing the launching ceremony of the emulation movement "Building Happy Schools".
The Department of Education and Training and schools have organized propaganda, research, and study of the criteria set, issued documents for implementation, and organized schools to register to build Happy Schools.
In Ha Tinh province, there are currently 56 schools registered to build Happy Schools. The remaining educational institutions, based on the characteristics of the unit's situation, will gradually study and apply some criteria in the temporary set of criteria issued by the Department of Education and Training.
Talking to reporters of the Journalist & Public Opinion Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh, said that the movement to build Happy Schools in Ha Tinh has initially achieved positive results, receiving support from managers, teachers, staff, students, and parents. It is a place that brings joy, comfort, peace, positive emotions, and the desire to connect and contribute to the education quality for students, teachers, and staff.
To achieve initial achievements, Ha Tinh teachers and students determined that, in addition to advantages, there are always certain difficulties and challenges.
To achieve the goal of active students and friendly teachers, the biggest challenge is to change the perception and actions in the way teachers teach and the way students learn while the old ways of doing things, old thinking, and old concepts have already shaped and ingrained in teaching habits.
“Not all teachers are willing to innovate to adapt to new requirements.
In addition, the pressure of exams, scores, and rankings is still heavy; a part of society does not fully understand the changes in teaching and learning methods, and lacks encouragement and sharing to help teachers and students overcome the difficult period of innovation" - Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh said.
Teachers and schools change for students
In recent years, Ha Tinh province has effectively implemented the campaign "Each teacher is a model of morality, self-study and creativity", the movement "Innovation and creativity in teaching and learning"; organized many training activities, fostering staff, especially training and fostering on innovation in teaching methods and forms;
Implementing the empowerment of teachers to be proactive and creative in choosing teaching methods, testing, assessment, etc.;
Shift the role of teachers from the subject of imparting knowledge to the role of organizers, guides, orienters, and supporters for students; pay attention to implementing solutions to create working and learning emotions among the team of managers, teachers, staff, and learning emotions among students, etc.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh, to make every day at school a happy day - the core goal that Happy School is aiming for, to become valuable, no longer just a slogan, the school and teachers should have real changes.
In the simplest terms, a Happy School is a day at school where both teachers and students feel it is a happy and truly meaningful day.
Therefore, schools need to focus on making changes and synchronous changes from the Party Committee, leaders to organizations in the school.
Change must start from the Board of Directors, and first of all, the school Principal must change. That is a change in thinking, way of thinking, management perspective, way of operating, shifting from management thinking, administrative orders to service thinking, putting the interests of learners first.
The school is truly democratic, objective and transparent, does not create unnecessary burdens and pressures; knows how to respect and promote collective and individual strengths, motivates teachers, so that each teacher is truly happy and that happiness will spread to all students.
Develop and effectively implement the Code of Conduct for Cultural Conduct in Schools; the school educational environment must be safe and healthy, free of violent behavior and unethical behavior;
Ensure the conditions of facilities, educational equipment and teachers, staff, etc. The school constantly innovates and is creative in organizing activities. Those activities must be practical and suitable to the psychological and cognitive characteristics of students, etc.
For teachers, according to the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, each teacher must promote a spirit of self-awareness and responsibility.
Constantly improve pedagogical and exemplary behavior capacity in terms of moral qualities, love for the profession, love for children, exemplary lifestyle, and the noble and pure values of a teacher's personality.
Know how to love students with all your heart and compassion, spreading to students faith and love for life and the future through humane gestures.
In all cases, we must promote understanding to love, share and help students.
Every individual emotion and creative personality of students must always be respected, not imposed mechanically, knowing how to control, not bringing negative emotions that occur in daily life to school, to class.
In the profession, teachers must truly be creators of joy and positive learning emotions for students, allowing students to discover new and interesting things from daily lessons.
To do this, teachers must constantly innovate teaching methods, forms of organization, and methods of testing and evaluating students.
Respect all efforts and learning products of students; evaluate without comparing one student with another, but know how to support, help, encourage, and motivate students to complete their learning tasks and feel that they are making progress every day.
For the class, teachers need to build a positive learning and training environment, solidarity, love, and help each other progress;
There is a clear division of tasks, appropriate to abilities and strengths, so that students do not feel redundant in the class or in school activities, making them feel valuable, making contributions to the community and being recognized.
To do so, there needs to be synchronous solutions to effectively implement the core criteria of a happy school: Building a school environment with a warm, friendly atmosphere in the school and classroom; every member of the school and classroom is loved, respected and understood.
Teaching and educational activities must be interesting, suitable for each subject, and encourage students to participate in learning activities. Staff, teachers, workers and students must respect, listen, understand and proactively build positive and good relationships.
Coordinate and cooperate effectively with parents, communities and relevant forces in student education.
Schools and teachers in the current period are not simply teaching with textbooks and practical applications, but also how to make students see their school and classroom as an interesting place where they long to come every day to be loved, respected, to study and explore to change themselves,...
To build this good goal, schools and teachers need to change to suit the requirements and tasks from the smallest things and need the cooperation of the whole society.
