Some people in provinces such as Bac Giang, Thanh Hoa... did not feel the earthquake. Ms. Ha Thuy, an office worker at Van Trung Industrial Park, Bac Giang province, did not know there was an earthquake until she followed the information on social media.
"Maybe big cities have many high-rise buildings so people feel it clearly. But the factories here are only one floor, the office area is 4-5 floors so people working inside don't feel it," Ms. Thuy explained.
14:40 Many people in Hanoi feel 'dizzy, like having vestibular disorders'
Mr. Le Tuan, a resident living on the 29th floor of the Times City apartment building in Vinh Tuy ward, Hai Ba Trung district, said the tremors caused him to have "vestibular disorders, low blood pressure, and a faster heartbeat", while his wife, who was taking a nap, felt dizzy and could not get up.
He felt two tremors about 20 minutes apart, the first strongest one occurred at 1:20 p.m., lasting for a long time, causing the door, cabinet door, and furniture to collide, the angular amplitude of hanging objects fluctuated by 15 - 20 degrees. The aftershocks were lighter. Having experienced several earthquakes in Hanoi, Mr. Tuan found this one "violent, with the highest amplitude".
The former lecturer at Hanoi University of Science and Technology looked up information on the USGS website and found that the earthquake that occurred in Myanmar was 7.7 magnitude, with an aftershock of 6.4 magnitude. When sharing the information on his personal page, many of his friends and relatives felt the same way, some even did not think it was an earthquake, "thought it was a blood pressure problem, a headache due to the change in weather".
14:30 Some Ho Chi Minh City residents do not dare to go back to the building after the shaking.

A person who had just stepped into the elevator felt the shaking so he was too scared to run down the stairs to the ground.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Institute of Geophysics, said that Ho Chi Minh City and the Southern region experienced tremors in high-rise buildings due to the impact of the earthquake in Myanmar. In Ho Chi Minh City, the level of tremors depends on the ground area, height and structure of the building. Therefore, in many high-rise buildings in the city center, people working at high altitudes felt the most tremors. The unit is monitoring aftershocks and the impact of the earthquake in Myanmar to issue the earliest notice.
13:35 Earthquake in Myanmar, Hanoi shakes
The Earth Sciences Institute said the earthquake occurred at 1:20 p.m. in Myanmar, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. Vietnam only recorded tremors, with a disaster risk level of 0, meaning there is no possibility of damage.
More than 1,000 km from the epicenter of the earthquake, people living in high-rise apartments in many districts in Hanoi such as Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, Cau Giay, and Nam Tu Liem recorded objects shaking for 10-20 seconds and repeating several times.
