TPO - The investment project to build a road tunnel with pedestrian access connecting Tran Nguyen Han Street to Chuong Duong Do Street was approved in the 2024 land use plan in Hoan Kiem District. The project is expected to be implemented soon in 2024.
Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Trong Dong has just signed a decision approving the 2024 land use plan for Hoan Kiem district.
Accordingly, in 2024, the area of land allocated to Hoan Kiem district is 534.66 hectares, of which agricultural land is 20.61 hectares and non-agricultural land is 514.05 hectares. The plan to recover land types in Hoan Kiem district for non-agricultural land in 2024 is 1.27 hectares.
According to the approved plan, the list of works and projects in 2024 of Hoan Kiem district includes 22 projects with an area of 2.08 hectares.
Notably, the project to invest in building a road tunnel with pedestrians connecting Tran Nguyen Han Street to Chuong Duong Do Street, implemented according to Resolution No. 30 of the Hanoi People's Council approving the investment policy and adjusting the investment policy of a number of projects using public investment capital. The implementation progress is 2022-2024.
Previously, in 2022, the Hanoi People's Committee approved the feasibility study report of the above project.
Accordingly, a road tunnel will be built through Tran Quang Khai Street connecting Tran Nguyen Han Street to Chuong Duong Do Street with a reinforced concrete structure.
The tunnel has a width of 18.25m, a height of 3.2m and a length of 15.7m. The exterior of the tunnel's walls and vault are decorated to create an architectural style suitable for the landscape of the area, and the tunnel door structure is arranged to connect the automatic and manual sluice gate systems at both ends of the tunnel.
Install automatic sluice gates and assembled sluice gates to ensure flood safety at the 2 tunnel entrances; slope the elevated Tran Quang Khai street section across the tunnel top to both sides; widen the section from the tunnel entrance to Chuong Duong Do street; install 2 flood-preventing sluice gates at the 2 access roads connecting the elevated Tran Quang Khai street to Chuong Duong Do street, widen the 2 lanes on both sides of the elevated Tran Quang Khai street section across the tunnel top to both sides.
The project is invested by the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem district, with a total investment of about 100 billion VND.

The Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to organize inspections of the implementation of land use plans; carry out land recovery, land allocation, land lease, and land use purpose conversion in accordance with the approved land use plan.
A representative of the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem District said that in 2023, the project had undergone geological exploration drilling to prepare for implementation in 2024.
