The Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board is selecting a contractor to implement the project to build a grade-separated intersection between Ring Road 3.5 and Thang Long Avenue (Hoai Duc district), with a total investment of VND 2,384 billion.
At the intersection of the Ring Road 3.5 project with Thang Long Avenue (the area where a grade-separated intersection will be built), there are still many factories and warehouses that have not been cleared.
Currently, package No. 28 on construction drawing design (including building information modeling - BIM application) and construction of the entire traffic project, technical infrastructure project and procurement and installation of construction equipment with a value of nearly 1,700 billion VND, is widely bid online, closing/opening bids on August 30, 2024.
The project was approved by Hanoi in 2022, invested by the Hanoi Civil Construction Investment Project Management Board, and implemented in the period 2022-2026.
The project includes an underpass in the direction of Ring Road 3.5 (Hoang Tung Street) - National Highway 32 with a total length of 975m and width of 18.5m.
Four prestressed reinforced concrete branch bridges with a total length of more than 2,300m, bridge width of 8.8m, reinforced concrete retaining wall longer than 600m.
In addition, the project also includes lighting and drainage systems on the bridge and at both ends of the bridge. The road within the intersection is built with a synchronous drainage system, trees, technical cable trenches, etc.
Reporters' records show that currently, the nearly 10km section of Ring Road 3.5 from the Southern axis intersection to Thang Long Avenue has basically completed all items, serving the travel needs of the people.
The Beltway 3.5 project, from Thang Long Avenue to National Highway 32, is over 5km long, with a total investment of nearly 1,800 billion VND, and has been under construction since 2017.
According to the plan, the project will be completed in 2021 but so far it has not been able to open the route due to land clearance problems. It is expected that by the first quarter of 2025, the investor will be handed over 100% of the cleared land to complete the project.

According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the construction of the Ring Road 3.5 intersection project with Thang Long Avenue aims to complete the traffic infrastructure system according to the planning, connect and exploit reasonably with the built traffic infrastructure.
At the same time, it reduces traffic congestion, contributes to the development of production and business, accelerates the formation of urban areas in the region, and promotes the socio-economic development of the capital in general.
Currently, in Hanoi, there are a total of 4 underpasses in use, one underpass is under construction.
Of these, 4 underpasses have been put into use at 4 major intersections, including Kim Lien, Trung Hoa, Thanh Xuan, and Le Van Luong. One under construction is on Ring Road 2.5 at the Giai Phong - Kim Dong intersection.
