Hanoi pays over 1,400 billion VND in social subsidies

Hanoi City has paid subsidies to social protection beneficiaries of over 1,400 billion VND in the first 10 months of 2024.

According to the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the city currently has over 203,000 beneficiaries of monthly social assistance. Hanoi's social assistance facilities provide care and support for 3,080 social protection beneficiaries, including lonely elderly people, people with disabilities, children who have lost their source of support, and other beneficiaries.

In October, social assistance facilities received 22 social protection beneficiaries; Social Protection Centers received 63 beneficiaries with begging and begging behaviors for management. The city paid over 1,469 billion VND to social protection beneficiaries in 10 months of 2024.

Hanoi ensures good payment to pensioners and monthly social insurance benefits.

The Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs also provided emergency support to 3 children at risk of falling into special circumstances in Lien Chau commune, Thanh Oai district with a total aid budget of 5 million VND from mobilized sources. Since the beginning of 2024, the total budget for emergency support work in the whole city is 870.2 million VND.

In October alone, through various channels, the Hanoi Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs received 5 reports of incidents involving children and forwarded the information to localities for verification and resolution. According to the report, 3 cases were correctly reflected as violence (2 cases in Hai Ba Trung district, 1 case in Thach That district). All children in the incidents were intervened and assisted according to regulations.

Over the past 10 months of 2024, the Hanoi Center for Social Work and Children's Fund have mobilized 304 units and individuals to sponsor resources for the City Children's Fund with an amount of nearly 8.3 billion VND. Hanoi has provided support to 5,535 children with a budget of over 9 billion VND.
