(CPV) - The Government Office has just issued document 9100/VPCP-QHQT conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son on the implementation of Vietnamese Language Honor Day in 2025.
Specifically, the Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to preside over and coordinate with ministries, agencies, and localities, and direct Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to organize activities to celebrate the Vietnamese Language Honor Day in 2025; urge, guide, inspect the implementation and report according to the Project "Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Vietnamese Community Abroad for the period 2023-2030" issued together with Decision No. 930/QD-TTg dated August 3, 2022 of the Prime Minister.

The Ministries of Public Security, Finance, Education and Training, Information and Communications, Culture, Sports and Tourism; People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities; Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, Hanoi National University, according to their functions and tasks, coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement activities to celebrate Vietnamese Language Honor Day 2025, and send a report on the implementation results to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before December 1, 2025 for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister.
* In Decision 930/QD-TTg dated August 3, 2022, the Prime Minister approved the Project "Vietnamese Language Honor Day in the Overseas Vietnamese Community for the period 2023 - 2030" (Project).
According to the Project, Vietnamese Language Honor Day is held annually on September 8 to raise awareness of the Vietnamese community abroad towards the Vietnamese language, honoring the beauty and value of the Vietnamese language in the community.
In addition, encourage and honor individuals, organizations and associations that have made positive contributions to preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language in the Vietnamese community abroad; maintaining the use of Vietnamese in Vietnamese families abroad in daily family communication; and spreading the Vietnamese language to foreigners.
Create motivation to improve the efficiency and quality of Vietnamese language teaching and learning in the community; encourage local authorities and educational institutions to introduce Vietnamese language into teaching at educational institutions in areas with a large Vietnamese population; support universities and research institutes with faculties or departments teaching and researching Vietnamese to further develop research, teaching and dissemination of Vietnamese. Promote the introduction of Vietnamese as an official foreign language alongside other foreign languages in areas with many advantages./.
