Excluding the director level, the average salary of people working in the IT - software industry in Vietnam currently ranges from 9 to 40 million VND. This information has just been shared in the Recruitment Market Report 2023 - 2024 published by TopCV.

Accordingly, at the staff/specialist level with 1 to 4 years of experience, IT - software workers have salaries ranging from 9 to 22 million VND per month.

With a higher position as a team leader, the salary they can receive is usually between 19-33 million VND. If promoted to the position of manager or department head, those working in the IT - software industry can receive a salary from 22 to 40 million VND.

Even as an intern, people working in the IT industry can receive a salary of 3-5 million VND/month. Meanwhile, new IT graduates (with less than 1 year of experience) receive a common salary of about 8-15 million VND.

In the 12 surveyed occupational groups, from team leader positions down, the salary of the IT - software industry is currently in the top 1 position.

Notably, with 4-6 years of experience, IT - software staff receive salaries 18-83% higher than those in other professions such as sales, communications, marketing, advertising, education, insurance, import-export, banking, finance, healthcare, pharmaceuticals...

At the management and department head levels, the salary of IT workers ranks second, just behind the insurance sector (25% lower), while far surpassing the remaining industries (14-82% higher).

In the IT field, salaries also vary greatly between industry groups. Accordingly, the software, application development, database management, cloud computing, user support and project management industries have the highest salaries.

Specifically, in the software and application development industry, the salary of web programmers, game programmers, embedded programmers and application programmers ranges from 15-36 million VND if they have 1-3 years of experience. With 3-5 years of experience, they can receive a salary of 24-50 million, and with over 5 years of experience, it will be from 36-60 million VND.

For hot industries like database and cloud computing, employees will receive from 16-30 million VND per month if they have 1-3 years of experience. This amount will increase from 27-60 million VND if they have 3-5 years of experience.

If you work as a project manager or bridge worker, the salary for this position ranges from 12-50 million VND for employees with 1-3 years of experience. They can receive a salary of 26-57 million VND if they have 3-5 years of experience.

Other IT professions such as security specialists, system administrators, network specialists, data specialists, etc. often have slightly lower salaries than the above groups. However, the basic salary for workers with 1-3 years of experience is also from 12-36 million VND and 15-48 million VND with 3-5 years of experience.

Figures will vary based on years of experience, size of business, and specific needs for other specialized skills. However, the statistics above are only monthly net salary, not including bonuses and other benefits.
