Hiding 2kg of drugs in a cardboard box and delivering it to a rented room in Quang Binh

On February 15, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department of Quang Binh Province Police said that the unit had just coordinated with professional units and Dong Hoi City Police to arrest Nguyen Hung Anh (born 2005, residing in Nam Ly Ward, Dong Hoi City, Quang Binh Province) who was in possession of more than 5,000 ecstasy pills (weighing more than 2kg).

Previously, at 2:05 p.m. on February 14, the police force caught Nguyen Hung Anh red-handed carrying a carton box from a delivery car to a rented room on Ham Nghi Street (Dong Phu Ward, Dong Hoi City). Upon inspection, the police discovered a large amount of drugs disguised and cleverly hidden in plastic bags, plastic boxes containing candy, cosmetics with more than 5,000 synthetic drug pills, ecstasy type, weighing more than 2kg.

It is known that Nguyen Hung Anh is involved in a drug trafficking and illegal storage ring of large quantities, operating inter-provincially with many sophisticated, cunning and daring methods and tricks, which was recently eradicated by the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, Quang Binh Provincial Police at the end of January 2024, arresting 3 people with more than 10kg of synthetic drugs.

This is an achievement in the first days of the new year of Quang Binh Police in general and the Drug Investigation Police force, Quang Binh Provincial Police in particular.

Previously, Binh Thanh District Police (HCMC) discovered and dismantled a criminal gang illegally trading in drugs, storing and circulating counterfeit money led by Pham Ngoc Duc (nicknamed "Duc Khi", born in 1989, residing in Ward 28, Binh Thanh District) and Nguyen Ngoc Tien (born in 1994, residing in Ward 27, Binh Thanh District) who played an assisting role.

Expanding the investigation, Binh Thanh District Police discovered that Duc bought drugs from Lam Huynh Minh Man (40 years old, living in Thu Duc City) and Le Ngoc Thanh (30 years old, living in District 10) to resell for profit.

According to the police, Le Ngoc Thanh's gang operates extremely aggressively, ready to use "hot" weapons to fight back against authorities and "deal with" competitors in the drug trade.

From January 24 to 27, Binh Thanh District Police coordinated with District 8 Police and other professional units to eradicate and arrest members of two drug-related criminal rings led by Lam Huynh Minh Man and Le Ngoc Thanh. In addition, the authorities also clarified the illegal drug trafficking and counterfeit money circulation led by Pham Ngoc Duc.

Police urgently searched 11 locations, which were residences where the group used to store drugs, and discovered and seized nearly 10 kg of synthetic drugs, more than 200 ecstasy pills, 2 military guns, 1 sports gun, and 30 bullets.

Police discovered 4.8 kg of chemical additive powder used in the preparation and packaging of finished "happy water" drugs, more than 1,000 "happy water" bags, 1 tablet press, and 2 heat presses used in the preparation of "happy water" drugs.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Department has prosecuted 16 suspects and continues to consolidate documents and evidence on the acts of storing, transporting, buying, selling, and organizing illegal use of drugs, circulating counterfeit money, and illegally storing military weapons.
