According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance, the world oil market in this management period (from December 27, 2023 - January 4) is affected by factors such as: disruptions at Libya's leading oil field increase concerns about tensions in the Middle East, which could disrupt global oil supplies. Attacks on ships in the Red Sea have not stopped, OPEC+ countries are expected to consider implementing oil production cuts... These factors have caused world oil prices to fluctuate slightly up and down in recent days.
During this management period, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance decided not to spend the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for all petroleum products; decided to set aside the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for fuel oil at 300 VND/kg.
Previously, on January 3, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien issued Directive 01 to implement the Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 1437 on focusing on implementing solutions to ensure adequate supply of gasoline for production, business and consumption of people and businesses.
Accordingly, the Minister of Industry and Trade requested units under the ministry to closely monitor the implementation of the total minimum petroleum source in 2024 of petroleum wholesalers; regularly inspect, urge, guide, and promptly adjust the allocation of total petroleum sources in accordance with the market situation and production, business, and consumption requirements of the people; absolutely do not allow shortages or interruptions in petroleum supply in any situation.
